Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that following the success of the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Da Nang City in 2024, the 4th Vietnam - Korea Festival in 2025 marks the beginning of a new era of development and opens up broad prospects in the cooperative relationship in many fields between the new Da Nang City and local authorities and Korean partners.
This year's festival has many activities and expanded content in many fields: from bilateral cooperation, investment, trade, science - technology, high-tech agriculture to tourism, cultural exchange, cuisine, sports...
Currently, Korea is the largest international tourism market of Da Nang city. In just the first 7 months of 2025, the city reached a record of 1 million visitors. A number that not only reflects the outstanding attraction of Da Nang, but also affirms the strong friendship between the people of Vietnam and Korea.
Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong hopes that the festival will be a bridge contributing to deepening the solidarity, trust and comprehensive cooperation between the new city of Da Nang and Korea in the new era.
At the opening ceremony, Da Nang city welcomed the 1 millionth Korean visitor in 2025, the 999,999th visitor, the 1,000,000th visitor and the 1,000,001st visitor were welcomed by the city with solemn ceremonies: leaders of the city People's Committee and the Korean Embassy in Vietnam presented flowers and sash.
In addition, 3 guests received vouchers to experience the city's typical tourist services.
On this occasion, Vietnam Airlines gave away 2 round-trip tickets from Korea to Da Nang to the 1 millionth passenger; T'way Air gave away 1 round-trip ticket from Korea to Da Nang to the 999,999th and 1,000,001st passengers.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, in 2011, the first flight from Seoul (South Korea) to Da Nang operated by Asiana Airlines opened up a journey of exchange and connection between the two destinations. Soon after, Korean Air continued to participate, making Korea quickly become one of the three largest international markets of Da Nang since 2012 and maintaining the No. 1 position from 2016 to present.
To date, there are 12 airlines directly connecting Korea - Da Nang, the total operating frequency has increased 22 times, from 7 to 150 flights/week, making Korea the international market with the densest aviation network to Da Nang.
