Da Nang has a university that specializes in pickleball.

Speaking with Tien Phong reporter, Dr. Duong Manh Thang, Vice Principal of Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports , said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the school will open many new majors, including Pickleball.

According to the school's leadership, in 2025 the school will be certified to meet the training program accreditation standards of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation (University of Danang). "After the accreditation is completed, the school will review and adjust the training program and open a number of new majors, including pickleball. The demand for pickleball is also very high, so this major will serve and meet the needs of society," Dr. Thang informed.

Regarding the teaching staff, the school leaders recognize that pickleball is a combination of table tennis, badminton, and tennis. Teachers of these majors approach pickleball very quickly, they also proactively learn and have been trained and granted international certificates in pickleball. Therefore, the school ensures the teaching staff of this new major.

Dr. Duong Manh Thang added that the Central Highlands region has only one University of Physical Education and Sports, and this is the first pickleball training course. There are currently nearly 20 students enrolled.

The training program focuses on playing tactics, teaching methods, competition techniques, competition organization, sports event management, community development... to meet social needs.

In March 2025, Da Nang established the Pickleball Federation. Based on the federation's proposal and the opinions and suggestions of units and schools on the implementation of pickleball, the Department of Education and Training requested units and schools to launch a movement to practice and compete in pickleball for all cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and students.
