The Community Action Award is an annual award organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with VCCorp Joint Stock Company. The award has become a prestigious national award honoring individuals, organizations, and businesses that are persistently creating positive value for society through community initiatives and projects with lasting impact.

Following the themes "Pioneering Milestones" in 2023 and "Creative Communities" in 2024, the 2025 season returns with the theme "Persistent Service" - recognizing long-term, enduring, quiet but powerful journeys; individuals who choose to act, contribute, and sow seeds of kindness to create lasting change.

The 2025 Community Action Award received 160 entries, an increase from 138 projects in 2024. Entries came from businesses, social organizations, volunteer groups, and individuals across the country, spanning various fields: nature conservation, sustainable livelihood development, education , healthcare, equal opportunity, welfare for vulnerable groups, honoring history, preserving cultural identity, and green transformation in production and business.

Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan presents the 2025 Community Action Award to 5 projects.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Central Committee member, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and Head of the Award Organizing Committee, Le Quoc Minh, emphasized that the spirit of "Persistent Service" is the thread connecting the three seasons of the Community Action Award. The strength of community action lies not in a single moment of brilliance, but in persistent, repeated steps taken every day. "Persistent Service" is not a slogan, but a way of life, a choice made by many people with whom the Community Action Award has the honor of being a part of.

This year, many projects have made a significant impact with their enduring journey of serving the community. One notable example is the Thien Tam Foundation, which for 20 years has donated tens of trillions of VND to support healthcare, education, and social welfare for millions of vulnerable people across the country.

In the field of green economy, Miza demonstrates how a Vietnamese enterprise can transform the circular economy model into a driving force for development by recycling hundreds of thousands of tons of waste paper annually, saving resources and reducing environmental emissions.

Lai Xuan Mon, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, presented the Enduring Project Award to 4 projects.

In the field of education, Trang Nguyen Education has made its mark over the past 10 years by bringing knowledge to tens of millions of students nationwide, helping to narrow the gap in access to knowledge between different regions. With its national infrastructure, the school internet program has played a crucial role in the digital transformation of education, ensuring that 100% of educational institutions nationwide are connected to the internet, opening up a digital learning environment for millions of teachers and students.

Conversely, the Intergenerational Self-Help Club builds a sustainable community welfare model, supporting hundreds of thousands of elderly and vulnerable groups to access loans, healthcare, and live more active and productive lives.

In addition, many stories shared during this season touched the hearts of listeners, because behind the numbers were very personal but courageous choices.

Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh presents the Sustainable Project Award to 4 projects.

For 17 years, Lieutenant Colonel and journalist Hoang Truong Giang has been "lighting a match" – from classrooms in mountainous regions to struggling military families. He recounts the moment his son asked, "Why do we have to help people, Dad?" and his simple yet profound answer: "I was once in difficulty and received help from others. Now, seeing others in difficulty, we must help them too, son."

Or perhaps it's the journey of "returning from the brink of death" and then dedicating all accumulated savings to establishing the 116 Waterway Rescue Team; it's the 10-year "Hair Library" persistently collecting hair from across Vietnam to donate to cancer patients; it's the scientists patiently working with each gene sample in the "Connecting Genes Journey – Rediscovering the Names of Fallen Heroes" project, with the affirmation: "This is technology for peace, technology for humanity – so that no hero is forgotten."

Each story is a glimpse into the spirit of persistent service: not flashy, not seeking fame, but steadfast and unwavering, accompanying the community on long journeys.

In addition to the official award categories, at this year's awards ceremony, the Judging Panel of the Community Action Award decided to add a special category called "Silent Service". Two individuals were honored in this category: Ms. Tran Thi Cam Giang – founder and director of Thien Duyen Shelter in Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Dr. Le Thanh Do – a doctor and war veteran in Hanoi – who has dedicated over 20 years to producing and donating thousands of prosthetic limbs free of charge to poor disabled people across the country.

The 2025 Community Action Award once again affirms that, whether individual or organizational, every persistent effort for the community is valuable and deserves recognition, connection, and support. The Award's journey doesn't end after the ceremony; it continues on its path of spreading inspiration, creating more space, resources, and connections for those who choose to live for others.
