Da Nang – United States: Strengthening the promotion of people-to-people exchange activities

At the reception, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City Le Van Trung expressed his desire to strengthen connections and promote people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries, especially in introducing and calling for strategic investors in key areas such as microchip technology, semiconductors, high technology, new materials, clean energy, trade - services, healthcare , environment and climate change response.

“The city hopes to continue receiving the attention and support of international organizations in efforts to heal the wounds of war, promote peace and strengthen the human connection between the two countries,” said Mr. Le Van Trung.

Mr. Frank Joyce, Head of the US National Council on Aging, expressed his hope that localities of the two countries, especially Da Nang, will continue to expand people-to-people exchange activities, contributing to building sustainable peace, long-term development cooperation and prosperity for both sides.

Recently, the United States has always been an important partner of Da Nang, in the fields of investment, trade, education and training; official development assistance (ODA) projects and projects of US non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have been and are being effectively implemented in Da Nang, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

The import and export turnover of goods between Da Nang and the United States is quite stable and has grown in recent times. The United States has become an important partner of Da Nang in many aspects such as trade, investment, tourism, foreign affairs, culture, etc.

Da Nang has official cooperative relations with three US cities: Oakland, California; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Houston, Texas.
