Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang visits and works in Sweden

Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang paid a working visit to Sweden on May 20-21, 2025.

During the visit, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang had working sessions with State Secretary of the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dag Hartelius, Director General for Trade Camilla Melander, Director General for Global Affairs Mikael Lindvall and Director General of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Department Anna-Karin Hedström.

At the meetings, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to consolidating and developing the friendship and comprehensive cooperation with Sweden; at the same time, she expressed deep gratitude to the Government and people of Sweden for their valuable support for Vietnam in the past struggle for national independence, as well as in the current process of development and international integration.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that Sweden is one of Vietnam's leading important partners in the Northern Europe region. Over the past time, the cooperation between the two countries has been continuously strengthened and developed well in many fields such as economics, trade, investment, education - training and people-to-people exchange.

To further deepen bilateral relations in the coming time, the Deputy Minister suggested that the two sides increase delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, especially high-level; at the same time, promote cooperation through Party, State, National Assembly and Government channels to increase political trust and create momentum for comprehensive cooperation.

For his part, Swedish Foreign Minister Dag Hartelius highly appreciated the socio-economic development achievements that Vietnam has achieved in recent times; affirmed that Sweden wishes to continue developing cooperative relations with Vietnam based on the existing solid foundations. He also expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, the two Foreign Ministries will strongly promote trade and investment relations, as well as cooperation in areas of mutual interest such as: science - technology, innovation, digital transformation, culture, education - training and defense - security...

The working trip practically contributes to deepening the long-term sustainable development partnership between Vietnam and Sweden.
