Da Nang: More than 160 establishments signed a commitment to do milk business in accordance with the law

The Da Nang Market Management Department said it has implemented measures to proactively prevent the production, trade and consumption of fake milk in the city after the Ministry of Public Security dismantled two large-scale fake milk powder production, trade and consumption rings in Hanoi and some neighboring provinces.

Accordingly, the Market Management Teams under the Da Nang Market Management Department will strengthen local management, coordinate with relevant agencies to inspect food production and trading establishments; step up inspection of the circulation and distribution of dairy products on retail channels, grocery stores, supermarkets, agents, and online sales channels to promptly detect and strictly handle violations.

The Da Nang Market Management Department also requires its subordinate Market Management Teams, through local management and market inspection, to integrate propaganda and dissemination of laws to businesses not to participate in the purchase and sale of milk products of unknown origin, or fake milk.

Notably, through the propaganda of the Market Management Force, in Da Nang City, 163 milk and nutritional food businesses (including 135 business households and 28 enterprises) have signed a commitment to comply with the provisions of the law in the business of milk, nutritional food, and food supplements...

Previously, on May 14, the People's Committee of Da Nang City issued Official Dispatch 2865/UBND-SCT requesting agencies, units, and localities to continue to closely follow and strictly and effectively implement the Prime Minister 's instructions in Official Dispatches No. 40 and 41 dated April 17 on handling cases of production and distribution of fake milk; production and trade of fake medicines and health protection foods.

In particular, the People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to direct the Market Management force to strengthen local management; regularly monitor and supervise the market to promptly detect unusual developments of goods circulating on the market; especially dairy products, medicines, health protection foods, especially at small retail channels, unofficial agents, e-commerce platforms and social networks, where there are many potential risks of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and poor quality goods.

Actively coordinate with functional agencies in the city to review, monitor and comprehensively inspect establishments producing and trading in dairy products, medicines and health protection foods; promptly detect and strictly handle violations in the production and trading of counterfeit and smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin and quality, and infringement of intellectual property rights.
