Da Nang hosts the Asian Golf Championship for the second time

On March 31, in Da Nang city, the Da Nang Department of Tourism in coordination with the World Golf Tourism Association held a press conference to inform about the activities of the "Asian Golf Tourism Congress" about to take place at the famous tourist destination, Da Nang city.

The Asian Golf Tourism Congress takes place from March 30 to April 5, with main activities such as: Survey program for golf travel agencies; AGTC 2025 golf championship; Asian Golf Tourism conference; IAGTO Awards ceremony.

At the press conference, Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that hosting the 2025 Asian Golf Tourism Congress is a valuable opportunity for Da Nang City to introduce to international friends its outstanding tourism potential and promote the image of golf tourism. Typically, the system of 5-star hotels and resorts and beautiful natural landscapes, high-class tourism services. Continuing to be the host destination of the Asian Golf Tourism Congress has affirmed the position of Da Nang City on the golf tourism map in the region and the world.

Mr. Peter Walton, President of the World Golf Tourism Association, assessed that when the first Asian Golf Tourism Congress (AGTC) was held in Da Nang in 2017, there were only 4 golf courses in the city and the Central region. But in the second time hosting the event, Da Nang had 8 international-class golf courses. This remarkable growth shows the city's potential, strengths and interest in investing in developing golf tourism.

He added that at this Congress, Da Nang continued to be an impressive destination, attracting more than 450 delegates from 33 countries and territories, far exceeding the 340 delegates of AGTC 2024 in Abu Dhabi.

In particular, this Congress attracted the participation of 168 international travel companies specializing in golf tourism worldwide, a new record over the Congresses. This affirmed the right choice of the World Golf Tourism Association when choosing Da Nang to host the "Asian Golf Tourism Congress" for the second time. This is also the only locality in the world to host the event twice in the history of 11 Asian Golf Tourism Congresses.

Established in 1997, the International Golf Tourism Association (IAGTO) has more than 2,400 members including travel companies specializing in golf tourism, golf resorts, golf courses, airlines, etc. and business partners in 93 countries. Of which, the core is 712 travel companies specializing in golf tourism in 68 countries.

IAGTO travel companies control more than 90% of golf tour packages sold globally, with a turnover of more than 2.5 billion euros per year. The Asian Golf Tourism Congress (AGTC) is one of three official events of IAGTO. This is an important bridge in the global golf tourism development industry, contributing to the promotion of golf destinations and opening up many cooperation opportunities for local suppliers./.
