Da Nang: Food poisoning sends 7 tourists to hospital

On the morning of June 26, Mr. Nguyen Tan Hai, Head of the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City, confirmed that an incident had just occurred in the area in which 7 tourists were hospitalized at Hospital 199 ( Ministry of Public Security - located in Son Tra District) due to suspected food poisoning. Currently, the Board is verifying information from the tourists to clarify the cause.

7 tourists from Hanoi had stomachache and vomiting and were taken to Hospital 199 for emergency treatment.

A representative of Hospital 199 said that at around 9am that same day, 7 patients were admitted to the emergency room, including 2 children. Upon admission, the patients had symptoms of abdominal pain and vomiting.

Doctors provided initial first aid and IV fluids to some patients. At present, the patients' health is stable.

Mr. Hai added that through initial verification, the above group of tourists came from Hanoi. On the evening of June 25, the group split up to eat and drink freely at some restaurants (not yet clearly identified) in Da Nang City.
