Dai Dinh exploits the potential of spiritual tourism

Located at the foot of the majestic Tam Dao mountain range, Dai Dinh commune was established on the basis of merging Dai Dinh town and Bo Ly commune. Dai Dinh commune also has cultural resources including: a system of relics worshiping Gods and Buddhas with diverse architecture with 8 temples, communal houses, 7 pagodas, 2 Zen monasteries (Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery and Truc Lam An Tam Zen Monastery). In particular, the Tay Thien relic and scenic area has an area of ​​250 hectares stretching from the foot to the top of Thach Ban mountain in the Tam Dao mountain range with many works such as: Tay Thien Festival Cultural Center, Bao Thap, Thien An Pagoda, Thuong Temple worshiping the National Mother Lang Thi Tieu... According to the genealogy, the National Mother Tay Thien's real name is Lang Thi Tieu, from Dong Lo village, Dai Dinh commune, Tay Thien mountainous area at the foot of Tam Dao mountain. She was the Queen of Hung Vuong VII, who contributed to helping the king fight the enemy and protect the country, teaching people to grow rice, raise silkworms, weave cloth... helping people have a prosperous and peaceful life. She was honored as Tam Dao Mountain Pillar, the Most Spiritual Mother of the Nation, the First Supreme God of Fortune (the supreme god protecting the Tam Dao mountain range). Local people respectfully built many temples and shrines to worship her, and she is associated with the Vietnamese Mother Goddess worship.

Tay Thien Festival is held on the 15th day of the second lunar month every year, attracting tens of thousands of tourists to visit and worship.

Making the most of that advantage, in recent years, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Dai Dinh commune have identified tourism and service development as a key economic sector. In the current general trend, spiritual tourism accounts for a significant market share of tourists. With a system of communal houses and temples worshipping the Mother Goddess of Tay Thien, the relic site and scenic spots of Tay Thien have been developing tourism combining various types such as: Eco-tourism, sightseeing, exploration with spiritual tourism. Every year, the Tay Thien festival is held on the 15th of the second lunar month to commemorate the Mother Goddess Lang Thi Tieu, attracting tens of thousands of tourists and visitors from all over the world to visit and worship.

In the commune, there is Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery, one of the three largest Zen monasteries in Vietnam, built right next to the Tay Thien scenic relic site. This is not only known as a sacred land but also a famous place that attracts many Buddhists and pilgrims to the Buddha's land, enjoying the beautiful scenery. Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery is also identified as the cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism, restored on the foundation of the ancient Thien An Thien Tu pagoda.

Along with the restoration, embellishment and construction of new relic sites and scenic spots, various types of services in the area have been invested in, contributing to promoting the development of trade and services, meeting the needs of tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country coming to visit and enjoy as well as the consumption needs of local people. Currently, in the commune, there are 435 small and medium-sized service businesses, mainly concentrated in the Tay Thien scenic area, of which about 60 households are in the food and beverage business; over 280 service businesses, about 20 households are in the motel and hotel business with over 300 rooms...

Implementing the policy of merging administrative units, Dai Dinh Commune Party Committee strengthens solidarity and unity, promotes the core leadership role of the Party organization to lead the implementation of solutions in planning, reorganizing development space, effectively exploiting tourism and service potentials associated with preserving national cultural identity, maintaining security and national defense, and building a clean and strong political system.

The Party Committee and People's Committee of Dai Dinh commune continue to focus on developing services and tourism into a spearhead economic sector of the commune. Arouse the source of Tay Thien Festival commensurate with the position of Tay Thien National Mother and the tourism potential of Tay Thien scenic area, both bearing traditional nuances and meeting spiritual aspirations. Link tourism development with economic and social planning and conservation of Tay Thien-Tam Dao scenic relics according to Decision No. 1734 of the Prime Minister. The commune mobilizes resources to complete traffic and tourism infrastructure connecting relic sites. Promote promotion and build the image of Dai Dinh-Tay Thien on digital platforms; Develop unique spiritual tourism products, combining eco-tourism, resort and sports tourism...
