Beer tycoon Duong announces to stop selling gold-plated hotel

In March, the beer tycoon Duong spoke to the press and confirmed that he had prepared a lot of work for the auction of the gold-plated hotel with a starting price of 250 million USD (about 6,000 billion VND), for interested partners from China, India and the Middle East. The reason for selling the gold-plated hotel was revealed to be to raise capital to implement social housing projects and commercial centers in Hanoi .

Hoa Binh Group, chaired by tycoon Duong "beer", will no longer sell the gold-plated hotel but will continue to invest and upgrade many more rooms to be completely gold-plated.

Talking to Thanh Nien , Mr. Duong "bia" said that he will stop selling the gold-plated hotel because the company's situation has become less difficult and has arranged cash flow to implement social housing projects and commercial centers in Hanoi as planned.

According to Mr. Duong, after a long wait, the Hanoi People's Committee has decided to accept the investment policy of this unit's high-rise social housing projects in Hoang Mai District with a total investment of thousands of billions of VND.

In early 2023, the gold-plated hotel was put up for auction with a starting price of 250 million USD.

"Hanoi City has approved Hoa Binh Group to implement two social housing projects. We have also arranged enough capital, so the sale of the gold-plated hotel will stop. Honestly, the plan to sell the gold-plated hotel is a last resort. It is my lifelong passion in business and if I sell it to foreigners, they will raise the cost, and it will be very difficult for Vietnamese people to access the service," said Mr. Duong.

The tycoon Duong "beer" also shared that when he decided not to sell the gold-plated hotel anymore, he invested in upgrading the project. Specifically, in addition to the gold-plated bathrooms, the hotel will rent out 36 super luxury rooms with all gold-plated equipment including bathrooms, bathtubs, toilets, beds, mirrors, doors, swimsuits... with shuttle services, lunch, dinner...
