Witnessing and attending the ceremony were the Venerable Sangha of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, representatives of Ho Chi Minh City's agencies and departments, along with thousands of monks, nuns, Buddhists and people from all over.
The Great Prayer Ceremony is one of the key spiritual activities within the framework of the 2025 United Nations Vesak Celebration held in Ho Chi Minh City, demonstrating the spirit of harmony, humanity and the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" of the Vietnamese people.
In the solemn space, thousands of candles were lit, carrying prayers for peace , safety and salvation for the souls of the heroic martyrs.
Previously, the Ritual Committee invited the souls of the martyrs at the Mau Than Martyrs Memorial (Nhat Tan Commune, Binh Chanh District) to the altar to perform the traditional Buddhist requiem ritual.
The grand ceremony lasted for two days, May 6 and 7 (April 9 and 10, At Ty year), with many spiritual rituals such as setting up a prayer altar, chanting sutras, holding a memorial candlelight ceremony, etc. to commemorate and show gratitude for the great merits of our ancestors, soldiers, and compatriots who sacrificed for national independence.
