On the afternoon of September 27, the 19th World Xiangqi Championship ended in Shanghai (China) with a shocking result. Vietnamese player Lai Ly Huynh defeated young Chinese player Doan Thang in the final match of the men's individual event, thereby winning the world championship. This is the first time in the 36-year history of the tournament that the world Xiangqi championship title did not belong to a Chinese player, which has raised many controversies and concerns about the situation of Xiangqi in the billion-people country.

Many Chinese netizens expressed their disappointment, saying that this defeat was a result of the chaos in the Chinese chess world in recent years. In response to this incident, Grandmaster Xu Yinxuan made further comments on the final match and the performance of the players.

Sharing about his opponent Lai Ly Huynh, Hua Ngan Xuyen commented: "Maybe Lai Ly Huynh cannot compare with the top Chinese players. We have faced each other many times, but his level is also very good, even on par with a master.

However, it is difficult to predict a match. No one can say for sure that they will beat him, and it depends on who he is playing against. Some people may feel more psychological pressure. When playing against younger players, he does not feel much psychological pressure, so he can be more relaxed and open."

When asked whether the defeat of young player Doan Thang, who is only 20 years old, was due to psychological stress, Hua Ngan Xuyen affirmed: "That's right, it was mainly due to psychological problems. I used to be too stressed in such games. I have also experienced this. Being too stressed before a match can lead to mistakes and poor performance."

Grandmaster Xu Yinxuan also emphasized Lai Lixing's impressive performance: "Lai Lixing is truly outstanding. He almost defeated Meng Shen in an important match two years ago (at the World Championship). He was almost certain to win. He also almost won at the World Championship two years ago. So his victory this time was both accidental and inevitable. Through continuous training, he has accumulated more experience and has a stronger spirit, ready to overcome the challenges of major tournaments."

In response to netizens' requests to re-analyze the game, Xu Yinxuan said he felt "ashamed" to review the game after losing at the world championship, as the young Chinese player's defeat was truly a shame for the young player and a wake-up call for the Chinese chess community.
