
General Phan Van Giang visited and encouraged households severely flooded in Huynh Mai village (Tuy Phuoc commune) and Lac Dien village (Tuy Phuoc Dong commune). These are localities that suffered heavy damage from floods. As of the morning of November 22, there were still some areas where the water had not completely receded.
At the visited locations, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang kindly visited, encouraged, and deeply shared with the people in the flooded areas, hoping that they would soon overcome difficulties and have confidence in the leadership of the Party, the State, and the local authorities. The Minister also directed the Army to continue to provide maximum support from search and rescue, evacuating people to safe areas, providing food, medicine, necessities, and participating in overcoming the consequences so that people can soon stabilize their lives.
Minister Phan Van Giang emphasized that in difficult times, the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of our people was once again strongly promoted.
The water is now receding but the fields are still flooded. People continue to share, help each other, and work together to quickly stabilize their lives after the flood.

Minister Phan Van Giang assigned the Commander of Military Region 5 and the Commander of Army Corps 34 to coordinate forces as assigned, under the direction of the Secretary and Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee. In particular, the military forces will support in order of priority from heavily affected areas to less affected areas; at the same time, support in construction, transporting materials to repair and overcome damage after the storm.
Politburo member and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang emphasized that local authorities absolutely must not let any people suffer from deprivation or isolation without timely support; and continue to take measures to quickly overcome the consequences and stabilize people's lives immediately after the flood recedes.
On this occasion, Minister Phan Van Giang presented 50 gifts to the people of Huynh Mai village and 50 gifts to the people of Lac Dien village who suffered damage due to floods. The Military Region 5 Command presented 40 gifts (20 gifts for each village).

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense supported Gia Lai province with 10 billion VND, 10 tons of dry food, 5,000 sets of clothes, 2,500 double tulle curtains, and 2,500 single tulle curtains. Hanoi City supported Gia Lai province with 50 billion VND to overcome the consequences of floods.
According to preliminary statistics, during this flood, more than 19,200 houses were flooded over 1.5 meters deep, many places were flooded 2-3 meters deep, widely distributed throughout the province.
In Gia Lai, the total damage caused by floods is estimated at more than 1,000 billion VND.
