Focus Square Project
Gia Nghia City Central Square Project is one of many key projects in Dak Nong. The project was approved by the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee under Decision 1328/QD-UBND. The project officially started on December 27, 2022. The construction unit is Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC. The total investment of the project is 400 billion VND.
This is a project of special significance. The completed project will create a highlight in terms of architectural space and urban landscape for Gia Nghia City in particular and Dak Nong Province in general.
In the immediate future, some items of the completed project will be the venue for Dak Nong to organize the 20th Anniversary of Dak Nong province, scheduled to take place in March 2024.
Recognizing this importance, right from the first days of construction, the Project Management Board took drastic action. The unit directed contractors to focus on human resources, materials, and equipment to deploy and organize the construction.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Director of the Project Management Board, during the implementation process, the unit encountered many difficulties. Among them, the biggest difficulty was the embankment material.
“Due to the earthworks, the core area of the Square within this scope cannot continue to carry out the leveling work. While waiting for the policy to remove the obstacles, we are focusing mainly on the construction of the Exhibition Center (including: foundation structure, columns, floors and retaining walls),” said Mr. Nghia.
According to Mr. Nghia, despite such difficulties, with the attention of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the project implementation progress still basically meets the requirements. By the end of May 2023, the completed construction volume reached about 20% of the plan.
Along with promoting the items that are being constructed smoothly, the Project Management Board coordinates with relevant departments and branches to remove the "bottleneck" regarding embankment materials.
After the competent authority has assessed and approved the mineral exploitation license, the unit will focus all human resources. All will focus on leveling the ground, ensuring the completion of the core area of the Square according to plan.
“The Project Management Board has directed contractors to speed up the project implementation progress. The unit’s goal is to complete the core area of the Square as soon as possible, in order to serve the organization of the 20th Anniversary of the re-establishment of Dak Nong province,” Mr. Nghia affirmed.
Accelerate upgrading of Provincial General Hospital
The Dak Nong Provincial General Hospital Upgrade Project was approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision 2281/QD-UBND, dated December 22, 2021. The total project investment is 753 billion VND.
The project, when completed and put into use, will meet the needs of quality medical examination and treatment for people in the province and neighboring localities. The completed project will create a working environment for medical staff and doctors to develop their expertise and professionalism.
The project started on December 13, 2022. The project implementation and completion time is 30 months from the commencement date. According to the Project Management Board, right from the commencement, the project encountered difficulties in preparation. Determining this, the Project Management Board coordinated with relevant units to focus on resolving the problem.
After being removed, the Project Management Board focused all human and material resources on construction to ensure the set progress. Up to now, the construction volume at the project has reached 15% of the plan.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Director of the Project Management Board, speeding up construction progress and disbursing investment capital is never an easy task.
To be smooth, the process must be agreed upon in many stages such as: site clearance, coordination between departments and branches in resolving "bottlenecks" regarding documents, legality, construction unit capacity, etc.
During the implementation of the projects, the Project Management Board encountered many difficulties. However, the unit's greatest advantage was the attention and close direction of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee.
“We really hope that localities will mobilize human resources to coordinate with the Project Management Board in site clearance. Because only after site clearance can the project and the next steps be implemented,” Mr. Nghia shared.
According to Mr. Nghia, the coordination between departments and branches to resolve the "bottleneck" must be made to the final result. Avoid the situation where each unit has a different viewpoint, affecting the process of accelerating the project's progress.
Many projects and contractors have focused on machinery, equipment, and material resources to carry out the work. During the construction process, some procedural problems had to be temporarily stopped.
"If we do not resolve the final result but continue to drag on, the project will be stuck, and more importantly, it will affect the economic and social development of the province," said Mr. Nghia.
