"I believe that the peace talks will move to a new stage," Finnish President Alexander Stubb said shortly after the US presidential election ended.
Mr. Stubb also proposed to wait for a specific plan from the new US administration for the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. However, this plan must respect Ukraine's sovereignty.

The United States has now begun the process of transferring power to a new administration after all 50 states completed their vote counts and announced the final results. According to the US Federal Election Commission, Republican candidate Donald Trump won with 312 electoral votes, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 226 electoral votes.
The electoral college of the states is expected to meet on December 17 to cast official electoral votes to elect candidate Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also congratulated Donald Trump after the media announced his re-election as US President, expressing hope for "strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the US".
"Congratulations to Donald Trump on his impressive victory in the elections!" , Mr. Zelensky said on X.
According to the Kiev Independent , the Ukrainian president recalled a “wonderful meeting” with Mr. Trump in September, when the two sides discussed in detail the Ukraine-US strategic partnership and the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
“I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to a ‘peace through strength’ approach to global affairs. This is precisely the principle that can practically bring a just peace in Ukraine closer,” Zelensky wrote.
Many other world leaders congratulated Mr. Trump on his victory over Democratic opponent Kamala Harris, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Chinese President Xi Jinping.
