Bat Cave scenic spot receives relic ranking certificate

VHO - On July 21, Thanh Binh commune, Da Nang city held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level relic ranking certificate "Bat Cave Scenic Area" (formerly in Tien An commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province).

At the event, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee awarded the certificate of recognition of Bat Cave Scenic Site and presented flowers to congratulate the event on the representative of Thanh Binh commune.

Bat Cave is located in Thanh Binh commune, Da Nang city (formerly Tien An commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province) and is ranked as a provincial-level scenic relic according to Decision No. 1687 dated June 17, 2025 of the former Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee (now Da Nang City People's Committee).

Speaking at the reception ceremony, Mr. Duong Duc Lin - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Binh Commune said: This is a great joy for the Party Committee and people of Thanh Binh, especially the event took place at a time of joy and excitement to welcome the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Thanh Binh Commune (term 2025 - 2030); welcoming the establishment of Thanh Binh Commune, the new city of Da Nang.

At the same time, express gratitude to previous units such as the Department of Culture and Information of Tien Phuoc district, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam (formerly) for their interest in implementing the scientific dossier to propose the ranking of the relic; creating all favorable conditions for the dossier of the Bat Cave scenic relic to be implemented and have a decision on ranking.

Bat Cave is highly appreciated by geologists for its natural, cultural and historical values, and is likened to a Jurassic Park with fossil arrays.

Although it is a newly established commune after the reorganization, Thanh Binh is a cultural and historical region with a history of hundreds of millions of years; a place with strong imprints and evidence of prehistoric culture, Sa Huynh culture, Cham culture,...

Bat Cave Complex was formed from 530 to 158 million years ago, one of the oldest rock formations in the Quang Nam - Da Nang region. The rocks of the Kham Duc and Nui Vu formations are metamorphic rocks exposed on a large scale in the Bat Cave scenic spot, clearly shown through color, foliation structure, micro-folding...

This is a rare exposure in the tropics because it is entirely exposed bedrock, while in most other places (in Yen Bai, Nghe An and the Central Highlands) bedrock is heavily weathered.

Bat Cave has a charming natural landscape, diverse ecosystem, located near O O stream - Vuc Vin, Thanh Cong reservoir..., creating an environmentally friendly ecological space, with great potential in exploiting rural ecotourism.

During the resistance war against France and the US, Bat Cave was the base of revolutionary organizations of Zone V, the Provincial Party Committee and Tien Phuoc district. QB 150 engineering workshop of Zone V chose this place as the base to produce weapons and ammunition.

Thanh Binh commune is the only commune among the four communes of Tien Phuoc district (formerly Quang Nam province) with many relics and scenic spots ranked at all levels, including two national relics and six provincial relics and scenic spots.

This is a very important resource and advantage for Thanh Binh to exploit the potential and opportunities for tourism development, creating new products based on the available local resources.

In recent years, the management, conservation and promotion of the Bat Cave and Tien An scenic spots have received attention from local Party committees and authorities, who have issued many directive documents and implemented tourism development in the area in conjunction with the construction, conservation and promotion of the values of historical and cultural relics and natural landscapes.

Bat Cave has been planned as a destination and is one of the outstanding spots with potential for local ecotourism development.

Thanh Binh Commune is located in the midland transition area between the plains and the western mountains of Da Nang city, on the East-West economic corridor, QL40B, DT614, DT615 axis, synchronously connecting the intra-provincial and inter-provincial traffic system, connecting with QL1A, Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway...

This is a very important advantage in trade, transportation of goods, passengers, socio-economic development, culture, tourism, commerce and services.

Preserving and maintaining the Bat Cave landscape has great significance in building and developing the local culture and socio-economy, following the general orientation of the whole country and of Da Nang city.

With the advantage of outstanding eco-tourism resources such as the National Monument of Huynh Thuc Khang Memorial House, Loc Yen Ancient Village, Lo Thung scenic spot, Bat Cave, O Vuc Vin waterfall, Deo Lieu Waterfall... Thanh Binh is being identified as being located in the western tourism development planning area of Da Nang City.

At the reception ceremony, the representative of Thanh Binh commune, Da Nang city also called on the people of the commune to join hands with the Party Committee and the government to make efforts in preserving the heritage; be creative and proactive in finding all resources to promote the value of the landscape.

Strictly implement the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage, well implement the rules and regulations on protecting and promoting the value of scenic spots, preserving and promoting natural landscapes, participating in promoting tourism economy, creating favorable conditions for tourists to visit.
