Director Blonde Nguyen: 8Wonder clearly shows the aspiration to bring Vietnamese culture to world class

Ahead of the 8Wonder 2025: Moments of Wonder music festival - an event organized by Vingroup Corporation taking place on August 23 at the National Exhibition and Fair Center (Dong Anh, Hanoi), director Blonde Nguyen "revealed" the scale of the stage, the special highlights of the program and the vision of 8Wonder to contribute to bringing Vietnamese culture to world class.

The event brought together famous international artists such as DJ Snake (Europe), J Balvin (Latin America), The Kid LAROI (Australia) and DPR IAN (Korea). Vietnamese artists included Soobin, Hoa Minzy, tlinh and (S)TRONG Trong Hieu.

Compared to previous music festival seasons, what is different about the idea of ​​8Wonder: Moments of Wonder ?

This time, we wanted to do something different. More than just a musical performance, Moments of Wonder aims to create a continuous emotional journey, where viewers are led from the glorious past, through the vibrant present, to the hopeful future – all expressed through the language of music and artistic images, at a place with a special historical mark.

8Wonder Stage is an emotional journey filled with historical significance.

We do not only bring Vietnamese culture to the world , we want to bring the world to listen to Vietnam. Particularly for the performances of Vietnamese artists, the program will have a special setlist designed to be very "Vietnamese" - from music, images to storytelling. There will be a seamless story line: opening with the legendary history of the country's founding, continuing with traditional Northern cultural materials, then the highlights of the three regions of the country, and finally a strong transformation: a modern, integrated Vietnam, ready to reach out to the world.

The interweaving of cultural segments, along with the artists’ subtle ability to connect, is the profound message that the program wants to convey: No matter where we go, what we do – Vietnamese people always keep their identity. And from that identity, we step out into the world.

Can you “reveal” some interesting things that are only available at Moments of Wonder?

The special feature of this year's 8Wonder will be a journey connected by music, emotions and visual systems.

The next unique point is the completely hand-drawn stage visual, imbued with a contemporary spirit and artistic value. Each stroke is not only an illustration but also a proud declaration of the Vietnamese language, Vietnamese culture and Vietnamese spirit in an international event.

In particular, many performances are staged with many traditional musical instruments, creating an inspiring musical space. The audience will feel more clearly the intersection between Vietnamese cultural identity and globality, in a format staged according to international standards.

Previously, the organizers revealed that the music festival would take place on an unprecedented scale. What exactly will it be?

As one of the National Day concert programs, 8Wonder confidently makes its mark with its outstanding scale and international-class experiences.

The organizers have put all their efforts into bringing here the top equipment system, ensuring that every moment is an emotional "explosion". The sound and lighting system has been invested heavily, with a design that covers the entire stage space with vivid and impressive light strips, creating an explosive visual effect throughout the night.

The stage is vivid and impressive, the visuals are completely hand-drawn, imbued with contemporary spirit and artistic value.

More than 1,000m² of giant LED screens and light columns arranged throughout the space will help the audience, no matter where they are, to "touch" every detail of the stage and fully feel every range of emotions.

Expected to welcome about 50,000 spectators, 8Wonder 2025 is not only a special music festival on the occasion of National Day, but also an event marking a new step forward in the way Vietnam organizes and produces world-class music stages. That is also the vision of the organizer of 8Wonder - Vingroup - which I really like when it clearly shows the aspiration to bring Vietnamese culture to international standards.

Usually with one international star, the organizers have encountered many difficulties. Here there are 4, 8Wonder how to combine ?

Each international artist participating in 8Wonder brings with them a separate musical "universe" and bringing all 4 big names together on one stage is truly a challenge.

Not only are the performance concepts different, all four artists have very high and strict technical requirements, requiring the organizers to constantly coordinate, exchange, and adjust to meet the requirements of each artist while still ensuring the continuity of the overall program.

8Wonder will be a multi-national music festival, but imbued with Vietnamese atmosphere and spirit.

For example, J Balvin will bring an extremely special stage setup, never seen before in events in Vietnam, while The Kid LAROI will bring almost the entire band to perform with imported equipment according to international standards.

8Wonder not only wants to invite international stars to perform, but also wants to bring their most unique and creative things to Vietnam - original, true to spirit, true to quality. And from there, create a multi-national music festival, but imbued with Vietnamese atmosphere and spirit - where world artists sing on this very land, in an inspiring cultural connection.
