I'll Tell You, Dad, Marks Tran Thanh Huy's Return After 6 Years Since the Movie Rom .

According to the revelation, if Rom exploits the harsh street story, reflecting social reality through the lens of youth, this work has emotional and family colors, aiming at the inner life and healing of people with wounds.

The film revolves around the journey of a single father - a tightrope walker and his introverted and quiet son.

Amidst the circus space filled with bright lights and laughter, father and son live in their own quiet moments, where pain, obsession, loneliness and love overlap.

The title "I Tell You, Dad" is a metaphor for the journey of connection between two souls: a father who always tries to hide his sadness to be strong in front of his child, and a child who is learning to open up to tell his world to his father so he can understand.

The unique point of the film lies in the circus art context, a world rarely exploited in Vietnamese cinema. The profession of “tightrope walking” requires absolute balance, each step is a life-and-death challenge, which the director uses as a metaphor for the journey of the father and son in the film: fragile, risky but also full of courage.

The film is also a tribute to and honor to the people who silently contribute joy and laughter to the audience when produced on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Circus Federation (1956 - 2026).

Accompanying Tran Thanh Huy is director Do Quoc Trung. Born in 1990, he graduated as valedictorian of the Film Directing major at the Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema. He has many short films: The Uniform; On Duty with Shu Qi or Close In, Open Out... which have participated in many international film festivals.

Talking about this special combination, Tran Thanh Huy said that he and Do Quoc Trung met at the idea of making a film about father-son love. “In the film, Trung plays the role of a son who lost his father, and I play the role of a father who just had a child. I think this is a very interesting combination for the film,” Tran Thanh Huy shared.

According to director Do Quoc Trung, the film tells a story of father-son love and is set in a circus context because this is a form of art and entertainment associated with the family and childhood of many Vietnamese people.

The film also features Nguyen Vinh Phuc as director of photography (DOP); People's Artist Phi Vu - who has been involved in the circus for more than 47 years and was the Deputy Director of the Phuong Nam Arts Theater.

I told you, it is expected to be released nationwide on January 16, 2026.
