Currently, Viet Bac Mining Chemical Industry Company Limited - MICCO under Vinacomin Mining Chemical Industry Corporation is the only unit in TKV that undertakes the production of explosives. The Company's production activities have become an important link and chain serving the development of the coal industry... Currently, the Company manages 9 explosive production lines, including 2 underground emulsion explosive production lines, 5 static ANFO explosive production lines, 1 NTN07 base emulsion production line, 1 NTR 08 bulk emulsion production line. In 2024, the Company is assigned a plan to produce 76,200 tons of various explosives (an increase of 5,200 tons compared to 2023).

To complete the production and business targets, since the beginning of the year, the Company has focused on arranging the production of reasonable explosive production lines, balancing warehouses in export service areas and meeting domestic consumption output according to dispatch orders and the direction of the Corporation, ensuring absolute safety, on-time delivery and efficiency. As a result, in the first 6 months of the year, the Company has produced over 42,400 tons of various explosives, reaching 56% of the yearly plan. It is expected that in the third quarter, the Company will strive to produce 15,800 tons of various explosives.

The Company believes that in the third quarter, there will be many days of unusually heavy rain, blocking the access to the minefield and forcing the postponement of blasting, narrowing the mining area of the mining companies, going deeper, and having a lot of water in the boreholes. To overcome the difficulties, the Company continues to proactively follow the market demand and production plans of units using industrial explosives in and outside the coal industry to adjust production, meeting the maximum needs of customers. At the same time, it balances the demand for output, labor and manages the daily production organization reasonably between NTR10 & NTR08 to serve supply and export.

In the open-pit coal mining chain, blasting is the most important "link" to loosen soil and rock, creating production areas for mines. Currently, Cam Pha Mining Chemical Industry Company is the unit performing blasting and loosening tasks for open-pit coal mining companies under TKV and units outside TKV in Quang Ninh .

In 2024, the Company strives to achieve a blasting volume of 108 million m³. From the beginning of 2024 to present, Cam Pha Mining Chemical Industry Company has implemented many solutions to improve the efficiency of blasting operations. The unit has developed and implemented production and business plans for each month, quarter, and year to ensure suitability, efficiency, and savings. Identifying safety in blasting construction for mines as a key task, the Company has implemented many solutions to closely monitor processes and regulations, and strengthen supervision through camera systems of blasting sites from mine construction to blasting stages to promptly remind and handle violations, if any.

It is expected that in the first 7 months of 2024, the volume of blasted soil and rock will reach more than 66 million m³, reaching 62.5% of the annual plan, and the consumption of explosives will reach more than 29,500 tons, reaching 61% of the annual plan. From now until the end of 2024, to complete the plan, Cam Pha Mining Chemical Industry Company will focus on safety during the production process, ensuring absolute safety, preventing occupational accidents and equipment incidents, associating production growth with environmental protection; continuing to coordinate with mining companies to balance appropriate daily blasting plans.

On average, each year, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) exploits about 40-42 million tons of coal. Every year, underground and open-pit coal production units need to use 55,000 - 60,000 tons of various explosives for coal mining blasting. Since the beginning of 2024, units under the Mining Chemical Industry Corporation have boosted production, supplying sufficient output and quality to meet the demand for explosives for coal production. In the first 6 months of 2024 alone, TKV's Industrial Explosives block produced 42,800 tons of various explosives. It is expected that in 2024, TKV will produce more than 73,000 tons of explosives. Ensuring safety and providing sufficient explosives for coal industry units has contributed significantly to the overall development of TKV.
