The program aims to successfully carry out the tasks assigned by the Government to the Industry and Trade sector in 2024. Specifically, the industrial production index (IIP) increases by about 7-8%; the proportion of processing and manufacturing industry in GDP reaches about 24.1 - 24.2%; electricity production and import reaches 306.259 billion kWh; commercial electricity reaches 262.26 - 269.3 billion kWh; total export turnover increases by about 6%, the trade balance maintains a trade surplus of about 15 billion USD; total retail sales of goods and service revenue increases by about 9%; B2C e-commerce growth is about 18-20%.
In the Resolution, the Ministry of Industry and Trade assigns specific tasks to units under the sector. In particular, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will prioritize promoting growth, maintaining macroeconomic stability, controlling inflation, and ensuring major balances of the economy . In particular, focusing on effectively and substantially restructuring the industrial sector in conjunction with renewing the growth model, enhancing endogenous capacity, improving competitiveness, and developing rapidly and sustainably.

The Ministry also ensures the stability of the major balances of the industry. Improve the efficiency of financial management and business innovation, effectively and substantially restructure public investment. At the same time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to review and improve institutions, laws, mechanisms and policies in conjunction with improving the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement; promote the reduction and simplification of administrative procedures and business regulations.
