Delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the AEON Mall Can Tho project.
AEON Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd. was established in 2009. After more than 10 years of presence in the Vietnamese market, AEON has continuously expanded its business operations, affirming its position in Vietnam - the second key market of AEON Group, after Japan. With a total investment of more than 1.5 billion USD. Every year, AEON Vietnam's growth is maintained at 10-20%. With the desire to contribute to promoting sustainable socio-economic development for Can Tho City in particular and the Mekong Delta region in general, AEON Mall Can Tho is not only a shopping center but is also expected to become a bridge connecting Vietnamese agricultural products, especially typical products of the Western region, to domestic and international consumers. The project will also create thousands of job opportunities for local workers, contributing to improving the quality of life and developing human resources in the region.

Can Tho City's GRDP in the first quarter of 2025 increased by 7.15% over the same period last year, the economic structure continued to affirm the leading role of the service sector, accounting for 53.01%. Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that the groundbreaking ceremony of AEON Mall Can Tho commercial center project is an important milestone for the socio-economic development of Can Tho City. The project is expected to become a large-scale, modern shopping, entertainment and service center of the entire Mekong Delta region, contributing to changing the urban landscape, promoting local economic development, creating jobs for many workers; at the same time, improving the quality of life of people in the city and neighboring areas.
AEON Mall Can Tho project was approved in principle for investment by Can Tho City People's Committee; at the same time, approved the investor in Decision No. 2579/QD-UBND dated November 15, 2024. AEON Mall Can Tho is the second project in the strategic cooperation series between Hoa Lam Group and AEON Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd.
The project has a total floor area of 195,073m2 (excluding two basements) and will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 includes the first shopping mall with a floor area of 113,921m2 , expected to be completed within 36 months from the date of investment license. Phase 2 includes the second shopping mall and parking building with a floor area of 81,152m2 . With its outstanding scale, Aeon Mall Can Tho promises to become a new symbol of modern trade and services in the area.
