Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his pleasure at the recent developments in the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries. In terms of politics and diplomacy, the two sides regularly exchange delegations at all levels, most recently the official visit to Qatar by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan in May 2023; and closely coordinate in regional and international forums. Economically, both sides have achieved many positive results, and economic cooperation mechanisms have been maintained...
Expressing his delight at being assigned to Vietnam, Ambassador Ali Abdullah Abel affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Qatar in the Asia-Pacific region and pledged to make every effort to further strengthen the friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Qatar. Ambassador Ali Abdullah Abel outlined several major directions he will pursue during his term to realize these commitments.

While acknowledging the positive results of bilateral cooperation, Minister Bui Thanh Son and Ambassador Ali Abdullah Abel agreed on several specific measures to promote cooperation between the two countries in the coming period. These measures include strengthening high-level delegation exchanges, with priority given to preparing for the visit of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad Bin Thani, to Vietnam in the fourth quarter of 2023; further enhancing trade promotion activities and connecting businesses from both sides; attracting Qatari investment funds to participate in oil and gas, renewable energy, infrastructure, and electric vehicle projects in Vietnam; exploring the possibility of cooperation in agricultural projects and in the Halal sector; and increasing the attraction of tourists and skilled labor.
