200 outstanding ethnic minority students in Hanoi were honored.

On the afternoon of December 14th, the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions held a ceremony to honor outstanding and exemplary ethnic minority students in the capital city for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The awards ceremony aims to honor the outstanding achievements in academics and personal development of ethnic minority students in Hanoi. It also serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of parents and schools in nurturing, educating , and guiding these students. Furthermore, it provides a chance for ethnic minority students in Hanoi to interact and share their learning experiences.

Speaking at the event, Bui Duy Quang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, said that 2025 marks the 9th year that the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions has organized the Ceremony to Honor Outstanding and Exemplary Ethnic Minority Students in the Capital. Over the past 8 years, 1,320 students have been honored and awarded.

Over the past period, ethnic affairs and the implementation of ethnic policies, including policies in the field of ethnic education in the capital city, have always received special attention from the City Party Committee, the City People's Council, the City People's Committee, and the Party committees and authorities of the localities.

Thanks to this, in the 2024-2025 school year, 200 outstanding and exemplary ethnic minority students achieved high results in various exams. Three ethnic minority students won awards in national-level competitions. Seven ethnic minority students won awards in the city-level high school and middle school student competitions for academic subjects.

In city-level sports competitions for high school and middle school students, 31 ethnic minority students won awards. In district-level competitions for middle school students in cultural subjects, 19 ethnic minority students won awards.

In the 2024-2025 National High School Graduation Examination, 30 students from ethnic minority groups in the city's communes and wards achieved scores of 25.78 or higher; 77 students from Friendship School T78 and Friendship School 80 achieved scores of 25.8 or higher. Congratulating the outstanding and exemplary ethnic minority students, the Director of the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, Nguyen Sy Truong, emphasized that the 200 students honored today are not only academically excellent and well-disciplined, but also actively participate in cultural, sports, and social activities; they are shining examples of willpower, self-learning, and self-improvement.

“The achievements you have made today are something to be proud of, but they are only the beginning. Ahead of you lies a long journey with many opportunities and also many challenges. I hope that you will always be deeply aware of your responsibilities: Responsibility to yourselves – to continuously learn, cultivate morality, and perfect your character; responsibility to your families – to become the faith and hope of your parents and grandparents; and even higher, responsibility to your homeland, to the capital, and to the country,” Comrade Nguyen Sy Truong expressed.

Reminding the students to always remember the teachings of beloved Uncle Ho, Comrade Nguyen Sy Truong shared that, in the context of the country and the capital entering a new stage of development, the demands on the younger generation are increasingly high. Hanoi places high expectations on you, the outstanding ethnic minority students, to continue nurturing aspirations, honing your skills, mastering knowledge, science, and technology; and at the same time, preserving and promoting the beautiful cultural identity of your ethnic group, contributing to building Hanoi into an increasingly civilized, modern, and culturally rich capital city.

At the awards ceremony, 200 outstanding and exemplary ethnic minority students from Hanoi were honored for the 2024-2025 academic year. Of these, 20 received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, and 180 received Certificates of Merit from the Director of the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion.
