But for tourism to truly break through and create a stronger attraction, a systematic communication strategy is needed, especially taking advantage of the spread of digital platforms and influential figures. At the same time, strengthening regional connectivity will open up many opportunities for Tay Ninh's image to spread further.

Need a media "push"

It is no longer a new thing for a locality or tourist destination to become “hotter” thanks to appearing in music videos or movies. This is an effective way of communication, helping to promote the image of the destination effectively, creating interest and attracting tourists.

Most recently, Bac Ninh through the music product “Bac Bling” by Hoa Minzy is a typical example. From a song with both folk melodies, but transformed into a youthful, dynamic style, it immediately went “viral” all over social networks, attracting a large number of tourists to experience the land of quan ho.

Tay Ninh also once “caused a fever” on social networks with the image of thousands of people spreading colorful tarps, waiting to watch the opening of the Ba Mountain Spring Festival. The scene was likened to the largest “camping festival” in Vietnam and spread strongly on social networks. However, it is regrettable that the province’s tourism industry has not yet made good use of such “golden” times to promote promotional activities.

Tay Ninh has many prominent factors that can contribute to promoting local tourism such as: Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, Runner-up of Tinh Bolero 2019 Lily Chen, MC Vu Manh Cuong... and many influential TikTokers. However, taking advantage of the influence of famous people to promote tourism in the province has not been effective.

In order for communication efforts to truly make a deep impression, Tay Ninh needs to build a consistent communication strategy that both positions the province's tourism brand and tells the story of a land with cultural depth, rich identity and full of potential.

In recent times, the tourism industry has proactively implemented many communication activities. Specifically, the province has released a Tay Ninh tourism brand identity, promoted communication on digital platforms, organized many domestic and international promotion and advertising programs, as well as coordinated the organization of events related to culture, cuisine, and heritage.

Survey programs, farmtrips, and presstrips are organized regularly, not only to promote destinations but also to connect tourism businesses. The province also coordinates with media units to spread the local image with many new perspectives, bringing the image of a Tay Ninh full of potential, "heritage land", a land of "peace in the sun and wind" or "a spiritual land in the middle of the Southern river"...

The program "Tay Ninh Online Tourism" organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is a new direction to reach closer to people near and far.

The Provincial Tourism Association is gradually strengthening its role in promoting and enhancing the image of the destination, with plans to establish many specialized clubs to preserve and turn local values ​​into “living cultural assets” that can be conveyed through tourism programs. At the same time, the unit also plans to invite influential people to participate in promotional activities, not only to create short-term ripple effects, but also to build a team of in-depth tourism communication ambassadors with long-term attachment to the image of Tay Ninh.

If you want to go far, you can't go alone.

To effectively exploit tourism potential, building itineraries linking with localities in the region is an inevitable direction. Instead of developing separately, regional linkage helps expand the experience space, prolong the length of stay and increase the spending of tourists. With its geographical location bordering many provinces, Tay Ninh has a great advantage to become a transit point in the series of itineraries to explore the Southeast region and the southern border area.

In recent times, Tay Ninh has paid special attention to promoting regional connectivity, especially with the Southeast provinces. Notably, the cooperation with Binh Phuoc province through survey activities and signing agreements to develop inter-route tourism. The “One route - two destinations” tour between Tay Ninh and Binh Phuoc has initially attracted great interest from travel agencies and tourists, opening up expectations for an attractive and in-depth inter-regional product.

Tay Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proactively connects tourism industries of provinces in the region and the whole country to promote the image of tourism in the province.

Not only stopping at bilateral cooperation, Tay Ninh also actively participates in the Southeast region tourism cooperation agreement for the period 2020-2025, together with Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai. This cooperation aims to create a unified tourism space, increase competitiveness and maximize the potential of each locality. Joint activities such as building inter-regional tourism products, promoting and training human resources have been effectively implemented, contributing to promoting sustainable tourism development in the whole region.

Through surveys of Tay Ninh's highlights such as the Cao Dai Holy See, Ba Den Mountain, the Southern Central Bureau Base and agricultural tourism models, tourism businesses have highly appreciated the potential for inter-route tourism between Tay Ninh and other provinces and cities in the region. From there, diverse itineraries can be designed, from short to long tours, combining road and waterway experiences and exploring the cultural spaces typical of each region.

Provincial Tourism Associations also play a key role in linking and developing product chains. Currently, 6 Tourism Associations of Southeast provinces have joined hands to use each other's typical products, share markets and travel policies. Since then, inter-regional tours are no longer seasonal but have become a long-term direction, creating a driving force for sustainable development for the whole region.

Not only expanding domestic regional connectivity, Tay Ninh also has great potential to develop cross-border tourism thanks to its more than 240km border with Cambodia. Short-term tours through the border gate, a promising border tourism model, especially when the transport infrastructure connecting the two countries is increasingly complete.

The border tourism route is expected to become a unique mark of Tay Ninh, when visitors can touch national landmarks, wander through heritage forests, meet ethnic communities in the border area, interact with border soldiers... so that each journey is not only a sightseeing but also a vivid and memorable cultural experience.
