According to the assessment of Ha Long Bay Management Board, Tra San - Cong Do area has an area of about 250 hectares, owns many beautiful natural sand beaches, with many coral reefs and a rich diversity of underwater creatures in the overall heritage site.

Tra San - Cong Do beach cluster belongs to sightseeing route number 4, about 25km from Tuan Chau International Port, next to Cong Do overnight accommodation area on Ha Long Bay. The beach cluster includes 8 natural sand beaches formed from coral fragments and mollusk shells, with an area of 100m2 to 800m2, enough to serve the experience activities of tourists .

There are 4 beaches that can serve tourists' activities throughout the day without being affected by the ebb and flow of the tide. In addition to serving tourists' swimming needs, this area can also exploit kayaking, sightseeing, and exploring natural landscapes. From the operator's area, tourists can kayak to the beaches in just 10 to 20 minutes.

Based on the assessment of Ha Long Bay tourism capacity, the exploitation level of Tra San - Cong Do area is 3,173 visitors/day. Based on the regulations on the area and route for kayak and rowboat services on Ha Long Bay, the number of vehicles operating in Tra San - Cong Do area is 200. The exploitation of Tra San - Cong Do beach cluster will be managed and supervised by units under the Ha Long Bay Management Board and relevant agencies and units.

Thus, after these beaches are approved and put into operation, tourists visiting Ha Long Bay will have more opportunities to swim, especially on sandy beaches along rocky islands in the sea, which often have beautiful scenery and clean water.

Help managers regulate the number of visitors to the entire Ha Long Bay, reduce the capacity of tour routes 1 and 2, and create a premise for organizing the exploitation and development of high-quality tourism products.

Currently, in Ha Long Bay, there are only 2 beaches, Soi Sim and Ti Top, announced to be open for tourism. In recent years, Soi Sim beach has been temporarily closed, so tourists can only swim at Ti Top island beach when taking tour route number 2.

Ha Long Bay Management Board has completed the plan for exploitation and management of Tra San - Cong Do beach cluster, and is submitting it to Ha Long City People's Committee for consideration and approval.
