
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and delegates looked back at the outstanding achievements of the revolutionary press, affirmed the particularly important role of the press in the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and in the activities of the National Assembly; and expressed gratitude for the great contributions of generations of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man also discussed and shared many contents to continue building a closer relationship between the National Assembly and the press; building policies and laws to create conditions for the press to develop more professionally and modernly, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.

Representatives of the National Assembly agencies, leaders of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, and leaders of press agencies exchanged and discussed basic orientations for amending the Press Law; building specific mechanisms for key and multimedia press agencies.
Along with that is the issue of Vietnamese media facing the requirements of policy innovation, digital transformation and multimedia platform development; institutions and policies for press development; policies for press-media economy; the role of a bridge between the National Assembly and the people - the requirement of innovation in press operation models and policies; professional ethics and social responsibility of journalists...

According to National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, the strong development of technology, artificial intelligence and social media has put the press in front of great but also interesting challenges, requiring newsrooms to keep up with digital transformation trends and change operating and management mechanisms.
The National Assembly Chairman said that in order to create a legal corridor for press activities in the new period, the draft Press Law (amended) is expected to be submitted to the National Assembly for comments at the 10th session (October 2025).

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh proposed having a comprehensive and synchronous strategy from the legal framework to the organizational model, investment in technology and human resource development.
In particular, to improve the effectiveness of propaganda and protect the Party's ideological foundation in the digital media environment, Mr. Le Quoc Minh suggested that it is necessary to build a mechanism for the State to order press products on digital platforms for official press agencies.
According to him, the State should also pilot a bidding mechanism for digital press products by topic, to encourage competition, creativity and efficiency in content production.
