On July 23, Can Tho University announced the threshold to ensure the quality of admission (floor score) for regular universities in 2025, applied to all methods of considering high school graduation exam scores, high school transcript scores and V-SAT scores. This year, Can Tho University enrolls students in 121 majors, with floor scores ranging from 15 to 21.5 points.

According to the announcement, the major with the highest minimum score is computer engineering (semiconductor circuit design) with 21.5 points. Candidates pursuing the major must also meet the criteria of having a math score ≥ 6.25 points.
Next are the majors with a floor score of 19, including: preschool education , primary education , civic education , mathematics pedagogy, information technology pedagogy, physics pedagogy, chemistry pedagogy, biology pedagogy, literature pedagogy, history pedagogy, geography pedagogy, English pedagogy, French pedagogy, science - natural science pedagogy, history - geography pedagogy.
There are 6 majors with a floor score of 18, which are: physical education and administrative law, administrative law studies in Hoa An area, law studies in Soc Trang (old), economic law, civil law and civil procedure. Law majors require candidates to have a math or literature score of ≥ 6 points.
Majors with a floor score of 16 include: English, journalism, business administration, marketing, international business, commercial business, e-commerce, finance and banking, accounting, pharmaceutical chemistry, tourism, tourism and travel services management.
For the remaining majors, Can Tho University takes the floor score of 15 points (87 majors).

The school notes that for majors that consider high school graduation exam scores, candidates must have an admission score from the floor score or higher and no subject in the admission combination must have a score of 1 point or lower. The admission score is equal to the total score of 3 high school exam subjects in 2025 according to the admission combination plus priority points.
For preschool education, candidates must have a total score of 3 subjects in the combination plus priority points from the floor score or higher. In which, the aptitude subject must have a score of 5 points or higher and the total score of 2 subjects in the high school graduation exam + (priority points) x 2/3 (rounded to 2 decimal places), must have a score of 12.67 points or higher.
For Physical Education, candidates must have a total score of 3 subjects in the combination plus priority points from the floor score or higher. In which, the aptitude subject must have a score of 5 points or higher and the total score of 2 subjects in the high school graduation exam + (priority points) x 2/3 (rounded to 2 decimal places), must have a score of 12 points or higher.
For teacher training majors that consider transcripts or V-SAT scores, the physical education major requires high school graduates to have their academic results for the entire 12th grade evaluated as good (academic performance is ranked from good or higher). In case the candidate is ranked average, he/she must meet one of two requirements: have a score on the physical education aptitude test of 9.0 or higher (on a 10-point scale); or be a level 1 athlete, a grandmaster, an athlete who has won medals at the Phu Dong Sports Festival, national and international youth competitions, or national and international championships.
For other teacher training majors, the admission requirement is that candidates must have graduated from high school and have good academic results for the entire 12th grade (academic performance ranked from excellent or higher).
