Stamp "Binh Thuy Communal House ( Can Tho )" affixed on a postcard, stamped with the first date of issue.
On the occasion of the recent Thuong Dien Binh Thuy Communal House Festival, the Can Tho City Stamp Association and the Can Tho City Post Office launched the postage stamp set "Binh Thuy Communal House (Can Tho)". On this special day, when buying stamps to stick on envelopes or stamped postcards, customers will receive a stamp with the image of Binh Thuy Communal House and the words "First issue date 9/5/2025 Can Tho" to commemorate the event. Therefore, the stamp booth attracted a lot of visitors. Many people brought many envelopes from their working agencies and stuck Binh Thuy Communal House stamps on them to contribute the first issue date. Some people said that this is a meaningful event for Can Tho culture and after the merger of administrative units, the agency's address will also change, so this envelope will be very meaningful and "go down in history". Mr. Nguyen Thien Triet, a stamp collector, excitedly shared: “I have added to my collection a meaningful stamp about Can Tho in general, and Can Tho culture in particular. The stamp about Binh Thuy Communal House is very beautiful and meaningful!”
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Luu, Chairman of the Can Tho City Stamp Association, on July 4, 2024, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued a decision on the 2025 postage stamp theme program, with 27 stamp designs and 4 blocks in the fields of commemorative stamps (characters, events), and thematic stamps. In the field of thematic stamps, the Ministry of Information and Communications decided to implement the theme "Binh Thuy Communal House (Can Tho)" including 1 design. To implement this program, the Ministry of Science and Technology officially issued the stamp set "Binh Thuy Communal House (Can Tho)" on the occasion of the Ky Yen Thuong Dien Festival of Binh Thuy Communal House nationwide.
❝ Previously, in July 2024, there was a National Treasure in Can Tho City on a postage stamp called "Nhon Thanh Ceramic Vase". According to the 2025 postage stamp theme program, from now until the end of the year, many other stamp sets will be issued. Stamp themes commemorating events include: a stamp set commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025); a stamp set commemorating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); a stamp set commemorating the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (1946-2026). The stamp “Binh Thuy Communal House (Can Tho)” has a face value of 4,000 VND, size 46x31 (mm), FDC size 190x110 (mm), designed by artist Nguyen Du (Vietnam Post Corporation). The stamp is designed with the image of Binh Thuy Communal House in the center, balanced, harmonious, and true color. Below is the prominent line “Binh Thuy Communal House (Can Tho)”. With a realistic design, artist Nguyen Du, a master stamp designer, has impressed viewers with a stamp imbued with the cultural and architectural beauty of Binh Thuy Communal House. On the day of issuance, the Can Tho City Stamp Association presented the stamp set of Binh Thuy Communal House to the representative of the Binh Thuy Communal House Management Board. Mr. Le Van Muoi, Deputy of the Board of Directors of Binh Thuy Communal House, excitedly said: “This is a special event for the communal house, especially since it was issued during the Ky Yen festival. We hope that through the postage stamp, the beauty of Binh Thuy Communal House will be known to more domestic and international tourists.”
Mr. Nguyen Van Luu, Chairman of the Can Tho City Stamp Association, said that the idea for designing the Binh Thuy Communal House stamp set comes from the cultural, historical and architectural value of this relic to the land of Can Tho as well as the South. Accordingly, Binh Thuy Communal House, also known as Long Tuyen Co Mieu, located in Binh Thuy Ward, Binh Thuy District, was first built in 1844, as a place to worship the local tutelary god, ancestors who had contributed to reclaiming land, building villages, teaching jobs to people and those who had contributed to the country. Binh Thuy Communal House is a typical communal house of Southern Vietnamese communal house architecture, with a very unique "Upper floor, lower porch" architectural style, along with a series of ban lam, horizontal lacquered boards, three-line panels, parallel sentences... With a long history, Binh Thuy Communal House is a place for religious and community activities of the people for many generations, and was ranked as a National Architectural and Artistic Monument in 1989. In addition, the Binh Thuy Communal House Ky Yen Festival was also included in the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2018. "The issuance of Binh Thuy Communal House stamps will contribute to promoting the image of the communal house more widely in the coming time", Mr. Nguyen Van Luu emphasized.
