This year's spring rice crop, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lan's family (An Toan Long village, Xuan Hoi commune) produced 4 sao with varieties N24 and XT28. Mrs. Lan was excited: Although this land does not have a proactive source of irrigation water, this year the weather was favorable and pest control was good, so the rice yield was estimated at 2.8 quintals/sao. After one day, my family harvested more than 50% of the spring rice crop.

After harvesting, the rice is carefully packaged by machine, farmers just need to load it onto a truck and take it home.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh - Vice Chairman of Xuan Hoi Commune People's Committee (right) said: Spring crop production here does not have a proactive source of irrigation water, it depends entirely on the weather. Therefore, the local government has directed farmers to start planting spring rice from the beginning of January 2025, so the harvest will be 15 days earlier than in other localities.

Through research, the whole Xuan Hoi commune has a total area of ​​153 hectares of spring rice. Up to this point, the whole commune has harvested more than 30% of the area. Through initial assessment, the local spring rice yield is estimated to reach over 5 tons/ha, so farmers are very excited.

Taking advantage of favorable weather, in recent days in the fields of Dan Truong commune, farmers have been urgently harvesting spring rice.

The golden, ripe, thick, heavy rice flowers are now ready for harvest.

It is known that this spring crop, the whole Dan Truong commune has a total area of ​​250 hectares, an increase of 5 hectares compared to last year. In recent days, the local government has directed farmers to take advantage of favorable weather, harvest rice as it ripens to ensure productivity and output.

Currently, the entire Dan Truong commune has harvested nearly 40% of the area, expected to be completed in about 7 days if the weather is favorable.

“This year, my family produced 5 sao of N24 rice. This variety is resistant to harsh weather conditions. During the recent heavy rains (May 11), the rice did not fall over. My family has now harvested 4 sao, with an estimated yield of nearly 3 quintals/sao, ” said Mr. Tran Van Dung, Thanh Van Hai village, Dan Truong commune.

According to initial assessment, this year's spring rice crop in Xuan Hoi, Dan Truong, Xuan Pho communes... is estimated to have an average yield of nearly 5 tons/ha.

The weather is favorable for the harvest of Nghi Xuan people.

In the 2025 spring crop, Nghi Xuan district will plant 3,295 hectares of rice, an increase of 7% compared to the previous spring crop, with an expected average yield of 56 quintals/ha. Up to this point, the district has harvested nearly 180 hectares in the communes of Xuan Hoi, Dan Truong and Xuan Pho.

When the rice is ripe, localities need to take advantage of favorable weather, organize propaganda, and mobilize farmers to mobilize machinery and human resources to urgently harvest spring rice to avoid unusual weather affecting rice productivity and output.
