New features in the U10 age group help "nurture" young talents

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Thanh Hoa Newspaper Children's Football Tournament - Long Son Cement Cup is a prestigious playground, contributing to discovering and nurturing young football talents of Thanh Hoa province. One of the notable new points in the 4th tournament in 2025 is the regulation for the U10 age group: each match must have at least 1 player born in 2016 (9 years old) on the field.

This year's tournament has a notable new feature in the regulations for the U10 age group.

Specifically, each U10 team this year must register from 14 to 20 athletes, of which at least 4 players were born in 2016 and in the match there must be at least 01 player born in 2016 on the field.

This regulation is not only professional but also provides a long-term orientation for training and developing young talents. The early training of 9-year-old players with 10-year-old seniors helps teams build a sustainable force for the following season.

The team leaders and coaches highly appreciated the changes in this year's season.

Coach Vu Xuan Hai (Ha Trung U8 and U10 teams) highly appreciated the new regulation: “This regulation is very reasonable. It helps nurture talent early, creates maturity for the next season and ensures a more balanced force of the teams.”

From the perspective of coach Bui The Tai (Thach Thanh), whose team was twice crowned champion in the U8 age group, he shared: "This regulation will greatly encourage young players to compete in the team."

As for Mr. Dao Duy Nam - Head of Nghi Son City Football Team, this is a very welcome decision: "This is a new point, an opportunity for 9-year-old players to show themselves in the U10 age group."

The 4th Thanh Hoa Newspaper Children's Football Tournament 2025 - Long Son Cement Cup will return from June 7 at Quang Xuong District Stadium and Gymnasium.

By requiring at least 1 9-year-old player to compete in the U10 age group, the Organizing Committee aims for a sustainable journey, helping children grow through each season, while improving the professional quality of the largest children's football tournament in Thanh Hoa province. This regulation not only creates opportunities for young talents but also contributes to raising the level of youth football in Thanh Hoa.

The tournament will officially open on the afternoon of June 7 at Quang Xuong District Gymnasium. The matches of the tournament will be livestreamed on the digital platforms of Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio - Television Station. With the participation of 37 teams from districts, towns and cities in the province, the tournament promises to continue to be a great festival of Thanh Hoa children's football.
