The police force receives, guides and processes applications for issuing and exchanging driver's licenses for citizens.
This is an initial result showing a positive change in people's awareness and actions when accessing online public services deployed by the police force. With this method, procedures such as registration for new issuance, issuance, and re-issuance of driving licenses are all received and processed through the Ministry of Public Security 's Public Service Portal, helping people save time, costs and travel effort, while ensuring publicity and transparency in the stages of receiving, processing records and returning results to citizens.
Along with receiving online applications, the Provincial Police are currently coordinating with the Provincial Post Office to support people in receiving their driving licenses at home if needed, and at the same time sending staff to guide people who are not familiar with the public service system.
The implementation of online driving license issuance is part of the roadmap for transferring the task of managing testing and issuing driving licenses from the Ministry of Transport (formerly) to the Ministry of Public Security according to the Government's policy. Thereby, it contributes to enhancing the effectiveness of state management, making procedures transparent and improving people's satisfaction in accessing public services.
The Traffic Police Department recommends that, in order to save time, costs, as well as reduce the burden on management agencies, people should carry out administrative procedures through the Online Public Service Portal at the information page: https://dvc-gplx.csgt.bocongan.gov.vn (officially operated by the Traffic Police Department from March 26, 2025) to register to submit applications for issuance or renewal of driving licenses, the results will be returned to citizens' homes by the post office.
