A solid support for workers

During the 2020-2025 term, with more than 500 cadres, employees and 100% participating in the trade union organization, Lai Chau PC Trade Union has performed well its role of representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers. Income, welfare, social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance are guaranteed and fully and publicly implemented. The total salary fund, insurance and benefits paid to workers during the term amounted to hundreds of billions of VND, demonstrating real and consistent concern.
The Union visited union members in difficult circumstances, supported people with serious illnesses, gave gifts to relatives of cadres and employees during holidays, illness, maternity, retirement, etc. In particular, the Union allocated over 600 million VND to take care of Tet, support the "Union Shelter" and costs for preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. In addition, it coordinated the dissemination of legal policies to employees, especially the Labor Law and the amended Trade Union Law, helping union members improve their understanding and self-protection skills.
Regarding spiritual life, many sports and cultural activities are regularly organized, creating an environment of internal cohesion. Employees actively participate in industry sports competitions, winning many gold, silver, bronze medals and awards for the whole union at the provincial and corporation levels. Notably, some units have proactively organized their own activities such as volleyball tournaments, karaoke contests for employees, etc., attracting a large number of union members, contributing to building a joyful and positive working environment.

Lai Chau Electricity Company's Trade Union presented a symbol of funding to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province.

Not only taking care of internal affairs, Lai Chau PC Union also actively participates in social security work, demonstrating its responsibility to the community. Many meaningful programs have been organized such as: giving gifts to poor households, policy families, children in difficult circumstances... with a total budget of hundreds of millions of VND. Typical examples include the program "Giving trust - Sending love" in Lao Ty Phung village (Nung Nang commune, Tam Duong district); building houses for poor households in San Thang commune (Lai Chau city); giving stone benches and gifts to sick children at the Provincial General Hospital. In particular, joining hands to implement the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province in 2025, up to now, Lai Chau PC has mobilized employees to support and donate a total of 300 million VND. Accordingly, 180 million VND was transferred to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; 120 million VND was transferred to the Provincial Police.
In addition, the Union and workers actively participated in the 1 billion tree planting program, contributing to improving the environment, responding to climate change and developing local sustainability.
PC Lai Chau Trade Union pays special attention to women's work and promotes gender equality throughout the system. At grassroots trade union groups, the Women's Committee has been strengthened and effectively promoted in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of female workers. Policies for women such as maternity leave, periodic health check-ups, and in-kind allowances are fully implemented. The team of female workers in the Electricity industry is increasingly demonstrating an important role, constantly innovating and being creative in work and being active in social activities. In the video contest "Gender equality promotes workers' progress" launched by the corporation, PC Lai Chau won a special prize with the work "Gender equality is not just a slogan", showing recognition for the efforts to create a civilized and progressive working environment. In addition, many women have been introduced, planned, and appointed to management positions, contributing to improving the status of women in specific technical fields such as the electricity industry.
The unit also closely coordinated with specialized units to launch many patriotic emulation movements such as: "Excellent workers, creative workers", "Strive to comprehensively complete the annual plan", emulation to welcome major events... 100% of affiliated units registered for emulation, the targets were specified for each individual. The movements were all associated with the company's political tasks, thereby promoting the sense of responsibility, creative initiatives in performing tasks, improving production and business efficiency.
In particular, Lai Chau PC Union actively responded to the "1 million initiatives" program launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Thereby, many initiatives and technical improvements have been implemented, contributing to increasing productivity, saving costs, and improving production and business efficiency. By the end of the term, hundreds of ideas and solutions have been registered and applied in practice at the units. The commendation work is carried out fairly and promptly, focusing on rewarding direct employees, creating motivation for competition and comprehensive development throughout the company.
Faced with the development requirements in the digital transformation era, Lai Chau PC Union constantly innovates its working methods, aiming for flexibility, practicality and closerness to workers. It is not only a "protector of rights" but also a "companion", sharing, listening, and motivating workers to feel secure in their dedication. The union also proactively grasps the thoughts and aspirations of union members, proposes policies suitable to reality, and improves the working skills of union officials to "speak the true voice of workers" in important forums. The motto "Connection - Companionship - Development" is becoming a guiding principle in all activities. Each movement and each program not only aims at achievements but also aims at building a cohesive collective, comprehensively developing in terms of expertise, ethics and corporate culture.
PC Lai Chau Trade Union has been affirming its role as a solid support for workers. From practical care to promoting emulation movements, from ensuring occupational safety and hygiene to improving spiritual life, from social security activities to promoting gender equality - all activities are aimed at the highest goal: for workers, for the sustainable development of enterprises.
