"Overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain" to eliminate temporary, dilapidated houses

The Border Guard of Dao San Commune is in charge of 3 border communes: Mu Sang, Dao San, Tung Qua Lin. According to statistics, in the 3 communes, there are 472 households eligible for support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses (Mu Sang commune: 66 houses; Dao San: 214 houses; Tung Qua Lin: 169 houses), of which 447 houses were rebuilt; 19 houses were repaired.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Quang - Station Chief said: Implementing the direction of the Provincial Border Guard Command on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the unit closely coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to promote propaganda about the purpose and significance of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses to create consensus, mobilize social resources in many forms to contribute with localities, districts and provinces to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.

Dao San Border Guard Command helps people dismantle to prepare for building new houses.

The unit has developed a plan to assign officers and soldiers to coordinate with the commune's forces; directly support and help with dismantling, transporting construction materials, leveling the ground and building houses for people to reduce the cost of building new, solid houses. Assign tasks to groups and teams stationed in the village to regularly check and monitor progress and promptly resolve difficulties and problems during the implementation process.

To contribute more resources to the locality and have more poor households living in solid houses, the Dao San Border Post has actively coordinated with the locality to mobilize organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to support 343 houses to help people build new houses and repair their houses. The unit's officers and soldiers have also contributed 18.6 million VND from one day's salary to support 16 houses to remove temporary and dilapidated houses in 3 Dao San communes managed by the Post.

"Overcoming the sun and rain", the soldiers in green uniforms try their best to help the poor build new houses.

Recently, the area has often experienced prolonged heavy rains, especially in communes managed by the Station located in harsh climate areas with frequent landslides and whirlwinds; life and transportation are still difficult. These factors have affected the construction and demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses. However, with the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", in parallel with overcoming the consequences caused by natural disasters, officers and soldiers have gone directly to remote villages to support people in timely steps to rebuild and repair houses to ensure they are solid and completed on schedule before June 25.

Houses filled with military-civilian love

In the border villages today, the joy and happiness of the people are everywhere when they move into newly built houses. Mr. Vu A Vo in Senh Sang A village, Dao San commune said: Since building the new house, every day my family has received help from 15 border guards to dismantle, transport tiles, house pillars; carry cement, bricks, sand to build the house. Now that the house is completed, I thank the Party, the State at all levels, the industry, the local government and each soldier who helped me realize my dream of "settling down and having a career".

Similarly, on May 7, the family of Aunt Minh Hai in Sin Chai village, Dao San commune (adopted child of the Station, directly sponsored by Colonel Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard) was also helped by soldiers to build a house. Hai shared: Having "adoptive fathers" who are border guards help build a house, reducing part of the cost, shortening the construction time, my family will soon be able to live in a new, solid and spacious house, my family is very happy.

The roofs of the houses built on the border are imbued with the love between the army and the people.

For many years, poverty has haunted the family of Mr. Lung A Ly in Co Ky village, Tung Qua Lin commune because of the small amount of land, no land for cultivation, and no health to work, so they are still considered poor households. Luckily, he recently received 60 million VND in support to build a new house. Mr. Ly happily said: With the same amount of support, on May 13, 7 officers and soldiers of Dao San Border Guard Station came down to help his family build the house wall. The meaningful work that the border guards do to help the people is immense. From now on, we have a sturdy, spacious house, no need to worry about the rain and wind anymore.

Wiping away his sweat, Major Sung A Hung - Deputy Political Commissar of the Border Guard Station confided: "Helping people stabilize their lives, including eliminating dilapidated houses and quickly completing solid houses is the responsibility of the Border Guard when stationed in the area. Therefore, when the Station was deployed, I did not hesitate to go with my teammates to each village and commune to help eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses and build new houses.

According to comrade Vuong Bien Thuy - Chairman of the People's Committee of Dao San commune, thanks to the solidarity and joint efforts of the green-uniformed soldiers of the Dao San Border Guard along with the Party Committee and the commune government in implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, since March until now, 59 households in the commune have been able to live in new, spacious, beautiful and solid houses.

Up to now, the Border Guard of Dao San has participated in building 76 houses in 3 communes managed by the Station (32 houses have been completed). Each house built, each difficulty shared is a joy, a great encouragement not only for the poor households supported to remove temporary houses, dilapidated houses, but also the happiness of each soldier in the border. Thereby, affirming the increasingly strong military-civilian relationship.
