(Dan Tri) - "The weakness ofeducation is the connection between schools and businesses, how to make students have skills to connect with work and have the capacity to practice and develop".

The above is the sharing of Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son at the closing ceremony of the "Talented Intern" program season 4, held on the afternoon of November 22 in Hanoi.

The program has trained more than 700 students from home and abroad. More than 250 graduates from this program are working at the Military Industry-Telecoms Group.

This year, the training fields from the program also increased 3 times, including: Cloud, Information Security, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Aerospace, Semiconductor, IOT, 5G, Software Technology.

These are all key sectors serving the government in implementing the national strategy on digital economic and digital society development to 2025, with a vision to 2030.

At the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son said that the weakness of education is the connection between schools and businesses. How can students have the skills to connect with work and have the capacity to practice and develop?

Therefore, the cooperation of businesses with schools to train soft skills as above is very suitable for students because in addition to basic knowledge, they need more skills and creativity in the future.

According to the Deputy Minister of Education and Training, in the near future, the Ministry of Education and Training will expand this model to attract more talented people, and will also deploy many specialized activities, including artificial intelligence (AI).

"We spread knowledge, not only through technology but also through people. The core competitive factor between countries is people, talent. After all, technology is also created by people.

Technology may become obsolete but people are an infinite resource, unlike other resources.

Therefore, human development and talent development - especially in the digital technology sector - is very important," Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son affirmed.

Previously, Dan Tri reporters noted at some job fairs at some universities that many businesses "criticized" students for having too much book knowledge but lacking soft skills and practical skills.

Professor David Tran, Director of the Network Computing Research Laboratory, Department of Computer Science, University of Massachusetts in Boston (USA), believes that not all good students have difficulty finding jobs after graduation.

The problem is that you have to know what the business needs and where you are in order to make the right choice.

Professor David Tran advised that in addition to book knowledge, it is important for students to have teamwork skills and be in harmony with businesses.

The "Talented Intern" program was launched in 2021. This year, more than 3,000 applications were received, 1.5 times more than in 2023.

In 2024 alone, the program will admit more than 300 outstanding third- and fourth-year students, including 240 applications with national and international awards.
