Immediately after storm No. 3 made landfall, causing severe impacts on the power system in many provinces in the North and North Central regions, along with heavy rain and floods in Nghe An, Dien Bien , Son La causing serious damage, EVNNPC directed units to closely monitor the scene, mobilize maximum human resources, materials, means and deploy flexible solutions to overcome the situation as quickly as possible, soon restore power supply to serve people, contributing to stabilizing life and production after natural disasters.
From July 1, 2025, EVNNPC will reorganize its organizational model, merging 27 affiliated Power Companies into 17 Power Companies, unified under the new management area. This is a strategic step to streamline the apparatus, improve the efficiency of management, grid operation and customer service quality.
In July 2025, EVNNPC's total commercial electricity output reached 10.12 billion kWh, an increase of 7.88% over the same period in 2024; the cumulative output in 7 months reached 60.37 billion kWh, an increase of 5.85%, equal to 55.44% of the annual plan (108.9 billion kWh) assigned by EVN. Electricity loss in July was at 4.31%, cumulative 3.81%, down 0.18% over the same period and 0.19% lower than the plan. In the face of unusual heat and floods, EVNNPC has increased inspection and handling of grid defects. By the end of July, the Corporation had promptly handled many dangerous defects, including other existing problems in the repair and replacement plan.

In customer service, in July, EVNNPC supplied electricity to 251 medium-voltage customers with an average processing time of 3.17 days; the cumulative number of 7 months reached 1,898 customers, with an average processing time of 3.09 days, a decrease of 0.15 days compared to the same period last year and a reduction of 3.91 days compared to regulations. Construction investment activities were actively implemented with 4 110kV projects starting construction and 2 projects energizing in the month, bringing the cumulative number to 23/76 projects starting construction (30.3% of the plan) and 52/113 projects energizing (46% of the plan).
Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation, EVNNPC identifies the 2025-2030 period as a breakthrough period, aiming for the comprehensive application of artificial intelligence in management and operation by 2026-2027. The Corporation synchronously deploys key tasks in all areas: engineering (monitoring, grid automation, green technology), business - customer service (digitalization of processes, improving service quality), information technology (digital infrastructure, network security, data analysis), construction investment (key projects, advanced technology) and management - human resources (innovation, capacity building). These orientations create a solid foundation for EVNNPC to modernize production and business activities, improve management - operation efficiency, meet the requirements of digital transformation and sustainable development.
Repair, troubleshoot, and connect lines
Focus on performing well the task of providing electricity to serve important political , economic and social events.
In the coming time, the Northern Power Corporation will continue to synchronously deploy solutions to ensure safe and stable operation of the power system, fully meeting the electricity demand for socio-economic development and people's lives. EVNNPC will focus on performing well the task of supplying electricity to serve important political, economic and social events, especially the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; proactively plan for electricity supply during the peak summer and stormy season in 2025.
In parallel with the operation, the Corporation has promoted the propaganda of electrical safety, protection of power grid corridors, fire and explosion prevention and guidance on economical and efficient use of electricity to people, businesses and households. Production and business targets have been implemented drastically, focusing on reducing power loss, improving customer service quality, accelerating the progress of medium-voltage to 110kV power projects, sharing the load for transformers carrying high loads, timely energizing key projects, strengthening the review and handling of existing problems on the grid, especially lightning protection items and equipment that have been in operation for many years.
Propaganda on safe and economical use of electricity in schools
EVNNPC continues to promote the application of technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), in quickly detecting grid defects, innovating technical and operational management, standardizing and digitizing data to improve the efficiency of analysis and evaluation; applying AI in occupational safety and hygiene management. Natural disaster prevention and search and rescue work is proactively deployed, associated with taking care of workers' health in extreme weather conditions and strengthening safety inspections at units and sites.
With the weather forecast that the North will continue to have unusual heat waves mixed with rain and floods, EVNNPC recommends that customers use electricity safely and economically, especially during peak hours (13:00-15:00 and 20:00-23:00); adjust the air conditioner temperature to 27°C or higher, limit the simultaneous operation of many high-capacity devices and prioritize the installation of rooftop solar power to reduce pressure on the system and save costs.
