On the afternoon of October 14, the Quang Nam Province Hydrometeorological Station issued a warning of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rains and floods.
Specifically, in the past 24 hours, many localities in the province have had moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain.
The highest rainfall in Dai Hiep commune and Ai Nghia town (Dai Loc district) was 487mm and 372mm respectively.
In Que Son district, Huong An bridge is 336mm, Cay Thong lake is 315mm. Duy Xuyen district has Phu Loc lake 423mm, Duy Trung commune 408mm.
Phuoc Ha lake head in Thang Binh district 305mm. In Tien Phuoc district, Tien Phong commune 210mm, Tien Ha commune 197mm, Dien Hong commune (Dien Ban town) 345mm.
It is worth noting that soil moisture models show that localities in the province have reached near-saturated (over 90%) and saturated states.
It is forecasted that in the next 6 hours, localities in the province will continue to have rain, moderate rain, and in some places heavy rain to very heavy rain.
Risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams in mountainous areas, landslides on steep slopes, and land subsidence in the districts of Bac Tra My, Dong Giang, Duy Xuyen, Hiep Duc, Hoi An City, Nam Giang, Nam Tra My, Nong Son, Phuoc Son, Que Son, Tay Giang, and Tien Phuoc. Risk level 2.
Provincial authorities warn that flash floods and landslides can have very negative impacts on the environment and threaten people's lives.
This causes local traffic congestion, affects the movement of vehicles, destroys civil and economic works, causing damage to production, economic and social activities.
