(QBĐT) - Continuing the working program in the Lao PDR, on the morning of August 28, in Champasak province, the working delegation of Quang Binh province led by comrade Vu Dai Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly delegation of the province, visited the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse.
The delegation included members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Tran Vu Khiem, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; Pham Thi Han, Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Hoang Xuan Tan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and localities.
Receiving and working with the delegation were comrade Nguyen Van Trung, Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse (Laos) and staff of the Consulate General.

At the meeting, Consul General Nguyen Van Trung informed the delegation of Quang Binh province about the lives of overseas Vietnamese as well as the investment situation of Vietnamese enterprises in 4 provinces in Southern Laos. He affirmed that the Consulate General will always be a bridge and hopes that Vietnamese enterprises, including Quang Binh, will pay attention to and invest in Laos in areas such as agriculture , animal feed, fertilizers, etc. In addition, localities continue to pay attention to supporting Laos in the field of education and training; grant scholarships to Lao students; continue to pay attention to supporting the Vietnamese community in Laos, especially maintaining the teaching and learning of Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese in Laos.
Next, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang informed the staff of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse about the socio -economic development, national defense and security, Party building work of Quang Binh province in the past time; the cooperation situation between Quang Binh province and localities of Laos and the cooperation orientations in the coming time. He affirmed that Quang Binh is a locality with an important strategic position, bordering many localities of Laos, so foreign affairs, fostering friendly relations and cooperation with localities of Laos are always prioritized and focused on by Quang Binh.
Providing more information about the province's foreign affairs activities in recent times, especially the relationship with Lao provinces, Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang agreed with the proposals of Consul General Nguyen Van Trung; at the same time, emphasizing that Quang Binh will call on businesses to seek investment opportunities in Laos as well as continue to support in the field of education and training. He hopes that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse will pay attention, continue to help, create the best conditions and be the focal point for the cooperation between Quang Binh province and the provinces in the Southern Laos region to develop and deepen, contributing to promoting the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and sustainable.
On the occasion of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on behalf of the delegation, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang wished the staff of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Pakse good health and continued to promote the pioneering role on the diplomatic front, contributing to tightening the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

* In the morning of the same day, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province and the working delegation of Quang Binh province visited and presented gifts to the Association of Vietnamese People in Champasak province. Also attending was Comrade Nguyen Van Trung, Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Pakse, Lao PDR.
The Vietnamese community in Champasak province currently has more than 1,100 households with more than 4,800 people. In recent times, people have lived in harmony, solidarity, helped each other, preserved national cultural identity; at the same time, they have complied with the policies and laws of the Lao PDR, contributing to consolidating and promoting the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos. In general, overseas Vietnamese have a standard of living equivalent to that of local people, with 35% of well-off households, 55% of average households and 10% of poor households.
Kindly inquiring about the living conditions of Vietnamese people in general and Quang Binh people in particular who are living and working in Champasak province, Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang informed them about the socio-economic situation of Quang Binh as well as cooperation with localities of Laos, including Champasak province.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that consistently implementing the Party and State's policies on overseas Vietnamese affairs, in which overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese ethnic community, in recent years, Quang Binh province has actively implemented many activities towards overseas Vietnamese, especially overseas Vietnamese in Laos, such as: Sending teachers to teach Vietnamese to overseas Vietnamese children; receiving and granting scholarships to overseas Vietnamese children to study in the province; mobilizing and creating favorable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to learn and invest in Quang Binh; regularly visiting and supporting overseas Vietnamese in times of difficulty and natural disasters.
Comrade Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang affirmed that the Vietnamese community in Champasak has integrated well and has made many contributions to the development of Champasak province as well as always turned towards the homeland, in which the role of the Association of Vietnamese in Champasak province is very important. The Association has done a good job of uniting, gathering, supporting people in their work as well as implementing the policies and laws of the host country, which has been highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people of Champasak province; at the same time, it has carried out well the activities of mutual love and support for its members.

He hoped that in the coming time, overseas Vietnamese in Champasak province will continue to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people, especially the Vietnamese language, promote the tradition of solidarity, always love, attach and make many practical contributions to Laos as well as always look towards their homeland. Along with that, the Association of Vietnamese in Champasak province will continue to promote the role of gathering, uniting, helping overseas Vietnamese develop the economy, reducing the poverty rate. Quang Binh province will continue to care for and support overseas Vietnamese; at the same time, he hopes that overseas Vietnamese will always be a bridge to develop the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and the two provinces of Quang Binh and Champasak in particular.
On this occasion, Quang Binh province supported the Vietnamese Association in Champasak province with 200 million VND.
