Central monitoring delegation works with Quang Nam on the national target program for sustainable poverty reduction

On the afternoon of January 17, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Van Thanh and his delegation worked with the People's Committee of Quang Nam province on the implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2024 and the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Le Van Thanh: The organization of inspection and supervision aims to grasp the situation and results of the implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction and the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Nam as well as other localities. This will serve as a basis for summarizing and evaluating the program for the period 2021 - 2025, recording difficulties, obstacles, proposals, recommendations... to have directions to remove and effectively implement the programs in the coming time.

According to the report at the working session, the total capital plan for 2024 after adjustment of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction (including capital for 2022 and 2023 extended to 2024) in Quang Nam is over 1,273 billion VND. By the end of 2024, the whole province will have disbursed more than 743 billion VND of capital sources, a rate of 58%. The multidimensional poverty rate of the whole province at the end of 2024 will be 6.35% (about 28,227 households), down 1.12% compared to 2023.

Quang Nam has approved support to eliminate temporary houses for 10,945 households, with a budget of more than VND 242 billion, including: new construction: 7,927 households; repairs: 3,018 households. To date, the province has completed 6,187 houses, reaching over 56%. The remaining number of houses to be completed in 2025 is 4,758, with a budget of nearly VND 129 billion. Quang Nam aims to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province by the end of December 2025.
