In localities, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team No. 2 on Food Safety conducted surprise inspections at a number of food processing establishments, restaurants, businesses, markets, food production and processing establishments, etc.
Through the inspection, the delegation discovered a number of limitations in ensuring food safety at the facility such as: Not ensuring product preservation conditions; not replacing expired labels; not following the correct food sample storage time; selling some items without invoices and documents...
The inspection team requested the establishments to quickly overcome the shortcomings, limitations and carefully check the products before putting them on the market to ensure safety for consumers, especially during the time of the April 30 and May 1 holidays and the peak tourist season.
After the on-site inspection, the Delegation also worked with the local Food Safety Steering Committees on food safety assurance work in the past time. The Interdisciplinary Inspection Team No. 2 seriously pointed out the shortcomings recorded during the inspection process and proposed that the Food Safety Steering Committees of Mong Cai, Hai Ha, Dam Ha, Tien Yen and Binh Lieu continue to strengthen food safety management in the coming time, especially during the summer tourist season.
The delegation requested localities to continue to establish new inspection and supervision teams and re-supervise food processing and trading establishments in the area; increase reminders for establishments to overcome limitations and ensure food safety standards according to regulations; step up monitoring of operations, propaganda and strict handling of violations and re-offending. At the same time, proactively improve the capacity to prevent food poisoning and infectious diseases, especially during the hot season.
