With more than 30 years of experience in the field of bridge and road construction, most of the time working with foreign contractors such as France and Japan, not long ago, Mr. Siah Chee Seng officially received an invitation to Deo Ca from the Chairman of the Board of Directors of this enterprise - Mr. Ho Minh Hoang.

"That year, passing through Deo Ca tunnel, I was very impressed to know that it was a project undertaken entirely by a Vietnamese transport contractor.

I was even more impressed with the meeting with Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, with the mindset of "Thinking differently - Creating a difference" that this chairman believes in and with the way he shared his plans and visions for participating in large projects, especially projects that require modern construction technology such as large span bridges and cable-stayed bridges.

That is why when the head of the Group wanted me to join and become a part of the company's future plans, I happily accepted," Mr. Siah Chee Seng shared.

With the desire to conquer traffic works to create momentum for the country's economic development, it can be said that, at present, Deo Ca is one of the few Vietnamese traffic enterprises that has spent a lot of money to recruit foreign experts to work with "huge" salaries.

According to Mr. Ngo Truong Nam, General Director of Deo Ca Group, if a business wants to reach international standards, first of all, its human resources must have international standards.

"Currently, we pay staff up to 15,000 USD/month to accompany us in implementing tasks aimed at reaching international standards.

Experienced foreign personnel are invited by Deo Ca to work as experts in new fields that the Group is interested in such as: cable-stayed bridges, high-speed railways, metro, undersea tunnels...", Mr. Nam said and informed that, by the end of 2023, the total number of employees of Deo Ca Group is 7,377 people, an increase of 46% compared to December 31, 2022 (corresponding to a 60% increase in work output).

In 2023 alone, Deo Ca recruited 3,080 employees, an increase of 79% compared to 2022. Of which, the construction site sector is 2,756 people (accounting for 90%), the office sector is 324 people (accounting for 10%).

With the workload in 2024 increasing by approximately 30% compared to the previous year, the leader of Deo Ca Group said: This year, the demand for labor recruitment at the Group is expected to reach more than 3,000 workers across the country.

"In addition to recruitment, in 2024, we will continue to transfer and arrange personnel to meet the needs of expanding production and business scale and system of units.

In particular, Deo Ca will transfer and resolve the regime at completed projects: Cam Lam - Vinh Hao (completed in March 2024), Binh Dinh coastal road, Quang Ninh project cluster... Transfer and recruit at new projects such as: Dong Dang - Tra Linh, Huu Nghi - Chi Lang, Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3...", General Director of Deo Ca Group informed.

No delay in salary even in the most difficult times

Assessing the specific characteristics of investment and construction activities of traffic projects, which are not always favorable, General Director Ngoc Truong Nam affirmed: Salary arrears and late payment are unprecedented at Deo Ca Group.

"Instead of letting workers take temporary leave and cut salaries until the difficulties pass, Deo Ca Group is always proactive in overcoming difficulties and arranging suitable jobs for workers.

In the most difficult times, many solutions are implemented to ensure income for workers with the goal of "leaving no one behind".

Financial funds are always reserved for businesses to manage risks, with the top priority being the regime for employees.

That is why at the most stressful times such as the Covid-19 pandemic, when the economy was in turmoil, all domestic and international economic production activities were disrupted, Deo Ca's machinery was still operating continuously, ensuring quality and progress of work implementation," Mr. Nam explained.

Realizing that people are the most important factor, we changed the concept of "field camp" to "office, field house" with the best facilities and equipment (air conditioning, hot water, sports area). These conditions are not only for managers but also for each worker to be taken care of to regenerate labor and increase work efficiency.

Promote training, improve human resource quality

Sharing more about the strategy of developing quality human resources at the enterprise, according to the leader of Deo Ca Group, in recent times, the Group has had a comprehensive training and development strategy, from the leadership level, professional boards to employees.

Training activities are implemented in a variety of forms, both internally and in conjunction with external units, both short-term and long-term.

In 2023 alone, the construction site block will have 1,568 personnel trained focusing on the Group's specific occupations and jobs such as miners, drillers, sprayers, drivers, construction machine operators, etc.

Regular professional training activities are organized by Deo Ca, ensuring the quality of human resources at all levels.

Deo Ca also cooperates with the Central College of Transport V and the College of Road Transport to conduct training in management and operation of transport infrastructure works for 120 personnel.

For the office block, the professional departments have conducted training programs to improve knowledge and skills for staff, completing 31/41 topics registered since the beginning of the year.

"Keeping up with the trend of investing in large-scale transportation projects in the near future, Course 1 of the railway - metro industry was organized by Deo Ca in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport with 80 students in two classes," Mr. Nam shared.

To concretize the training development strategy, Deo Ca Group has established 2 training centers.

In which, cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport to establish Deo Ca Research and Training Institute, train a group of highly qualified engineers and experts.

Along with that, the Practical Training Center in Da Nang was also established to train groups of workers and craftsmen to execute projects and participate in management, operation and maintenance.

Practical training programs are designed at different levels, suitable for each level and position in the organization.

"At this center, Deo Ca uses a team of engineers and experts from the Group who are participating in its projects, combined with vocational school lecturers such as the head of the Central College of Transport V, to train highly practical programs," the leader of Deo Ca Group shared more.
