Private enterprises take the lead in providing clean water to people in rural areas

While turning on the tap to wash vegetables and food to prepare lunch for customers at the restaurant, Ms. Nguyen Thi Vui, 35 years old, Tam Son town (Song Lo) said: "My family registered to use clean water from Song Lo water plant at the beginning of 2019. The monthly water bill is about 300 - 500 thousand VND. Since having clean water, my family no longer has to worry about using well water every day, the risk of pollution causing harm to health like before".

The good news is that Ms. Vui's affordable restaurant opened right at the gate of the District Medical Center, with reasonable prices, ensuring food hygiene, using clean tap water, and a warm and attentive service attitude, attracts hundreds of customers to the restaurant every day, mainly relatives taking care of patients at the Song Lo District Medical Center.

Writer Xuan Mai, 79 years old, residing in Tam Son town happily said: The underground water source is gradually depleted and the risk of pollution is high, if we continue to use it for drinking and eating regularly, we will be very concerned about our health. Since 2009, my family has been using clean water from the Song Lo water plant, so we feel very secure and the cost is not too much.

Responding to the policy of attracting businesses to invest in providing clean water to people in rural areas of the province, in 2018, Vinh Phuc Water Supply Construction Investment Joint Stock Company invested 120 billion VND to build a clean water factory in Tam Son town on the banks of the Lo River, ensuring the need for clean water for more than 10,000 households in the North of Song Lo district including Tam Son town and Yen Thach, Dong Thinh, Nhao Son, Dong Que communes (with nearly 3,000 households and agencies) and 3 communes in Lap Thach district including Xuan Loi, Tien Lu, Dong Ich (with nearly 2,000 households and agencies) according to the clean water supply zoning of the province. At the same time, it is preparing to supply water to businesses investing in Song Lo 2 Industrial Park (IP) and Dong Thinh Industrial Cluster (CCN).

Song Lo Clean Water Plant uses modern Vietnamese technology, producing clean water by sedimentation treatment, sand filtration to remove suspended solids and bacteria, suitable for Vietnamese conditions. This technology has been applied at Tam Duong Water Plant and many provinces and cities across the country and is highly appreciated by specialized scientists . This is a method of using integrated water treatment technology with steel materials painted with anti-rust, anti-corrosion paint; stainless steel materials, anti-corrosion, durable and shiny, composite materials made from polyester resin and fiberglass...

Thanks to the investment in a modern production line system that meets national standards and exploits relatively clean natural water sources on the Lo River, the Song Lo clean water factory has been granted a Certificate of Quality by the Vinh Phuc Department of Health to ensure food hygiene and safety; the production process and product quality management meet ISO 22000:2018 standards; and has been granted a Certificate by the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Chairman of Song Lo District People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Trung said: The construction of a clean water production plant in Song Lo District is a great joy for officials and people of all walks of life in the area. After 5 years of operation, the plant has solved the "thirst" for clean water of the people in the conditions where underground and surface water sources are at risk of pollution, easily causing epidemics, affecting people's health.

However, due to the habit of using well water and difficult economic conditions, the number of households using clean water from the factory is still limited. The district continues to direct localities to propagate and mobilize people to use clean water according to new rural standards, while protecting their own health.

From 2024 to present, Vinh Phuc Water Supply Investment Joint Stock Company continues to invest in expanding pipelines to communes in Lap Thach district, Song Lo 2 Industrial Park and Dong Thinh Industrial Park. Optimize the upstream water treatment system, continue to improve the brand recognition and product promotion system, increase product competitiveness in the market, expand the consumption market, targeting customers who are enterprises, production and business households in industrial parks and industrial parks.

By 2025, strive to increase commercial water output by 2-3 times compared to present, ensuring that 100% of people in the region have access to clean water according to the zoning approved by the Provincial People's Committee.
