Vietnamese businesses make breakthroughs thanks to technology and green growth

(HTV) - Many businesses in Ho Chi Minh City are finding solutions to the problem of green growth by applying modern technology to production - both improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

After much research, used plastic is collected, processed and recycled into plastic powder - raw material for new environmentally friendly products. This is a clear demonstration of the "greening" efforts in the plastic industry. Therefore, Au Lac Plastic Company has promptly responded and developed in a sustainable and environmentally friendly direction.

Mr. Hoang Minh Anh Tu - General Director of Au Lac Plastic Company said: "Our production materials are made from bio-plastic particles that can decompose in the natural environment, partly regenerated from corn and cassava - domestic agricultural waste products. At the same time, the factory uses 100% solar energy, applies 3D printing technology to save electricity, and has a backup battery system for effective use during peak hours."

Not only in the manufacturing sector, technology enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City are also actively contributing to the goal of green growth. The team of young engineers at Soft World Vietnam Co., Ltd. has developed automated software solutions for the F&B, restaurant, hotel sectors... helping businesses save costs and reduce emissions.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hien - Director of External Relations of Soft World Vietnam Co., Ltd. shared: "Green growth is the responsibility of enterprises with a strong commitment to invest in research and development (R&D), and at the same time use electric delivery vehicles to reduce emissions, contributing to building a greener and cleaner Ho Chi Minh City".

Along with the business sector, Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park is also a bright spot in the green transformation roadmap. This is one of the first industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City to switch to an ecological industrial park model in the 2020 - 2030 period.

30 enterprises in the area participate in cleaner production, helping to significantly reduce electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Mr. Huong Xuan Tan - Representative of Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park informed: "From 2020 to now, there are 30 enterprises in the area participating in cleaner production, helping to significantly reduce electricity consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The total potential for emission reduction reaches thousands of tons of CO₂ per year".

From the perspective of trade promotion, Mr. Tran Phu Lu - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) said that digital transformation associated with green transformation helps improve competitiveness, especially for enterprises exporting to international markets. The city has organized many training courses, prioritizing support for enterprises that meet green standards in trade and investment promotion programs.
