As a 100% Hong Kong (China) invested garment enterprise, with a variety of products such as trousers, shirts, knitwear, etc., Vietnam Garment Manufacturing Company Limited (TAL) regularly maintains a stable workforce to meet orders signed with partners. In 2025, the Company plans to expand 10 more production lines, so it will need to recruit 800 new workers. However, up to now, the Company has only recruited 46% of the demand.
Mr. Pham Hong Quan, Human Resources Director, Vietnam Garment Manufacturing Limited Company (TAL) (Ba Thien II Industrial Park, Binh Xuyen District) said that the company's labor recruitment is currently facing many difficulties due to competition with other companies in the region; young workers are less interested in the garment industry; the company's requirements for product quality and technology are high while the majority of applicants are unskilled.
To overcome that situation, the company has introduced many attractive salary and bonus policies; proactively established a technical department to train workers from basic to advanced, expanded recruitment of workers from other provinces such as Ha Giang , Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho with policies to support accommodation and travel for workers.
Haesung Vina Vinh Phuc Limited Liability Company (Khai Quang Industrial Park, Vinh Phuc City) is recruiting 500 unskilled workers with a salary of 7 - 10 million VND/month, no qualifications or experience required to serve the new production line. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, Human Resources Department of the company said that recruitment is done regularly, through many different recruitment channels. However, currently, there are still not enough recruits even though the company has many incentives for employees.
According to Ms. Hoa’s research, currently, workers are not “keen” on working in the province because other localities have higher average salaries. Her company’s leaders have also proposed that Vinh Phuc province remove difficulties in recruiting workers, proactively connect with businesses that supply and lease labor to ensure production and delivery on schedule.
According to the Department of Home Affairs of Vinh Phuc province, it is expected that in the first 6 months of 2025, businesses in Vinh Phuc province will need to recruit nearly 22,000 new workers, including more than 14,500 untrained workers (accounting for 66.5% of recruitment demand). Industries with high recruitment demand include: electronics, garment, business, mechanics, technical staff...
Many businesses have a need to recruit a large number of workers such as BH Flex Vina Limited Liability Company needs to recruit 1,500 workers; Arcadyan Technology Limited Liability Company (Vietnam) recruits more than 1,700 workers; Vietnam Precision Industry 1 Limited Liability Company recruits more than 1,500 workers; Solum Vina Limited Liability Company needs 1,500 workers...
Not only participating in labor recruitment through job exchanges, many businesses post jobs through social networks, have bonus policies for those who successfully introduce new workers... However, recruitment results are not positive in the current context.
According to the assessment of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Employment Service Center, although large industrial parks create many job opportunities, Vinh Phuc province still has difficulty attracting workers from other provinces due to poor living conditions such as workers' housing, living expenses, and support services; the working environment is not really attractive. Vinh Phuc has to compete for labor with major economic centers such as Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh... where there are good benefits in terms of salary, dormitory, transportation support... In addition, many young workers have not received proper vocational training, leading to failure to meet job requirements, especially in industries such as mechanics and engineering.
To meet the resources for enterprises to produce orders during the year, Vinh Phuc province has promoted trading floors and organized job fairs to connect labor supply and demand. At the same time, the province has increased the updating of recruitment information on websites and social networks for workers to find suitable jobs; widely propagated labor and employment policies to the people and workers.
According to forecasts, in the coming time, the demand for trained labor as well as high-tech human resources will increase because the investment attraction orientation of Vinh Phuc province is technology projects, with high added value, using high-quality labor, having the ability to compete, participating in the production network and value chain of electronics, automobiles, motorbikes; prioritizing semiconductor technology projects, artificial intelligence technology, increasing technology content in production.
In response to that need, Vinh Phuc province continues to implement solutions to support and assist businesses in recruiting workers to ensure both quantity and quality according to the production and business needs of businesses; create connections between businesses and vocational training institutions on human resource training to meet the recruitment needs of businesses, regularly inform workers and businesses about the recruitment needs of businesses and the job search needs of workers,
In addition, Vinh Phuc province will continue to research and issue appropriate mechanisms and policies as well as recommend that businesses pay more attention to welfare to contribute to attracting and retaining workers, such as building essential public utilities and social housing for workers, etc.
