The Bana Kriem community in Vinh Thanh district, Binh Dinh province has its own unique cultural features. In addition to folk songs, dances, and music, traditional festivals such as buffalo stabbing festivals, communal house festivals, and new rice festival have their own cultural identity, becoming a way of life that the people preserve and pass down from generation to generation.

The Bana Kriem people's new rice festival is one of the largest traditional festivals of the year. The festival consists of three main parts: young girls going to the fields to pick new rice and bring it back to the village, the joyful scene of pounding rice and the festival according to the customs of the people here. The festival has the meaning of thanking heaven and earth, ancestors, welcoming the rice spirit back to the village, praying for a year of rice in the house, a prosperous and happy life for the villagers.

Coming to the Competition of performing excerpts of festivals, traditional cultural activities of ethnic groups, and the Cultural Festival of Central Ethnic Groups this time, the Bana Kriem people in Vinh Thanh district, Binh Dinh province re-enacted the festival of eating new rice flakes.

“The reenactment of the new rice festival is a great opportunity for us to promote the cultural identity and spiritual life of the Bana Kriem Vinh Thanh people. This is also an opportunity for us to interact with tourists in Quy Nhon on this occasion,” shared folk artist Dinh Chuong (84 years old, Vinh Son commune, Vinh Thanh district).
