Clare Waight Keller, the renowned British designer known for her sophisticated and elegant style, introduced materials like nylon and new technologies to elevate the style of modern living in her Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
A streetwear collection featuring nylon as the main material.

Ultralightweight nylon fabric is featured in women's designs, such as pleated skirts, full-zip vests, and shorts, offering comfortable and highly versatile garments.

The collection utilizes the familiar nylon material of sportswear , creating an interesting combination of contrasting materials and colors that are both luxurious and captivating.
These are elevated everyday garments, evoking powerful and inspiring emotions by combining sophisticated design with the functionality of ultra-lightweight nylon: versatile, modern, clean, and effortlessly chic. The collection, in neutral tones, ranges from flowing dresses in earthy hues to smart, essential pieces with soft seams, muted and vibrant colors – each design considered a versatile wardrobe staple, perfect for transitioning from spring to summer.

Designer Clare Waight Keller said: "There are two main elements I've incorporated into the spring collection. First is the nylon fabric. In recent years, polyester has become popular in sportswear and casual wear, and has even been used in haute couture..."

Therefore, I wanted to honor the original inspiration of sportswear by using nylon to provide a cool, soft, and flexible feel.
This material is incorporated into various styles such as flared dresses, shirts, shorts, and vests, offering a modern, fresh look and a dynamic spirit in every detail. The second element is color, a wonderful aspect to explore with this material. Even the most vibrant tones, like burnt orange, become soft and sophisticated."
The designer was a pioneer in introducing nylon into fashion.
Designer Helmut Lang often uses nylon in his jacket designs, especially windbreakers, with their simple style and windproof and waterproof features, making them ideal for sporty, dynamic designs while still maintaining a modern and elegant look.

Helmut Lang's nylon trousers and skirts are also designed in an industrial style, with strong, meticulous details in the stitching. They often feature slim-fit or wide-leg designs, offering comfort while remaining fashionable. Additionally, some of Helmut Lang's t-shirt and shirt designs utilize nylon to create a lightweight, breathable yet elegant look. This material also helps maintain the garment's shape throughout the day.

Helmut Lang's designs are often highly practical, understated, yet convey a sense of strength and simplicity.
Helmut Lang's style with nylon leans towards minimalism and industrial design. Nylon is used to create sharp cuts and clear silhouettes. The designer explored the combination of practicality and minimalist beauty, blending modern materials with functionality. Nylon is easy to maintain and highly durable, perfectly aligning with his design philosophy of making fashion long-lasting and enduring. Through his creativity, Helmut Lang elevated nylon to a crucial element in haute couture, transforming it from an industrial material into a part of fashion art.

Particularly with its Re-Nylon Nylon line, using recycled nylon and innovative techniques, Prada not only makes nylon a part of high fashion but also contributes to promoting sustainable fashion trends. The twill weave and compact structure of the fabric enhance its water-repellent properties. Additionally, this fabric is also dirt-resistant, making surface cleaning easier than ever.
