Innovation in implementing the Women's Union model

BHG - In order to build a strong association foundation and create conditions for members and women to develop, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has researched and innovated the way of implementing activities. Notably, models such as "1+1", "3 have, 3 know" and 4 good branches have created clear effects and spread widely.

The Women's Union of Vi Xuyen district currently has 24 union bases with over 21,000 members. With the motto: "Where there are women, there are union activities", the Women's Union of the district has actively implemented key and methodical models, contributing to gathering and attracting enthusiastic members to participate. Comrade Hoang Thi Chien, Vice President of the Women's Union of the district, said: Continuing to effectively implement the targets of the Resolution of the Congress of Women's Union Delegates at all levels as well as starting from local reality, the Women's Union of the district has concretized them into plans and women's movements, determined to eliminate "blank" households of members. Not only implementing familiar models such as "5 no, 3 clean", clean house, beautiful garden... the Union at all levels has also enthusiastically and effectively implemented other models such as "1+1", "3 yes, 3 know" and 4 good branches. Thereby, creating positive effects in the quality of union activities, improving the living standards of members and local women.

Women's Union members of Tha village, Phuong Do commune, Ha Giang city are more connected through the model activities "3 have, 3 know".

Starting the pilot at the Women's Union of Dao Duc commune, up to now, 100% of the grassroots associations under the Women's Union of Vi Xuyen have mobilized and built models. In which, the "1+1" model implements 1 member introducing 1 female mass to the organization; "3 have, 3 know" focuses on building a branch with a pioneer member, having monthly activities, having resources to organize activities and knowing the members' faces, circumstances, and needs. Implementing the 4 good branches includes: Good implementation of political tasks, good quality of activities, good solidarity, good unity and good members. Currently, the whole district has established and maintained 83 models. To facilitate implementation, members of the models organize field surveys, make a list of women to propagate and mobilize to join the association. In addition, many students and women have been able to borrow capital and become the masters of their families' finances. Many women in difficult circumstances or who are sick have been promptly visited and supported.

Comrade Hoang Thi Van, Head of the Association Organization Building Board, Provincial Women's Union shared: The work of gathering members and women is a limitation that needs to be removed, especially in remote, isolated and particularly difficult areas. Some areas do not have a rich and widely developed model to attract and create jobs for members; the content of activities in some places is passive and not yet connected. Based on that reality and concretizing the breakthrough "Building strong branches and women's groups" for the 2021-2026 term of the Provincial Women's Union; in the period of 2023-2024, the unions at all levels have piloted and replicated the models "1+1", "3 have, 3 know", 4 good branches. Although this is the first time this model has been implemented, it has created a vibrant and effective movement in attracting and gathering members for nearly 2 years. The results from the beginning of the term up to now have developed nearly 10,000 new members, bringing the total number of members in the province to over 179,000, exceeding the term target by 140.24%.

Members of the Women's Union of Vi Xuyen district actively develop the economy from the model of 4 good branches.

Focusing on building a strong association, up to now, the whole province has built over 411 "1+1" models operating according to the principle of 1 helping 1. For branches with good activities, they will comprehensively help weaker branches and establish twinning relationships. Thereby, increasing the connection and support between branches; creating conditions for exchanging and sharing experiences, gradually improving the effectiveness of activities. For "1+1" individuals, each good member will help 1 inactive member to change their awareness and behavior in areas such as: Family care, economic development, participation in association activities. Thanks to that, it will further strengthen the feelings and responsibilities of women in the branch, diversify activities, and attract more women to participate in the organization.

“3 have, 3 know” are necessary and important contents because the branch is a close unit, directly managing and grasping the situation of members and women to work with the higher-level association to perform well the role of caring for and protecting members and women. On that basis, the whole province has built 216 “3 have, 3 know” models associated with skillful mass mobilization activities, clubs, self-help groups for economic development, savings tubes... The models assign specific tasks to each member of the branch, requiring them to grasp information, grasp the thoughts and needs of members to concretize into emulation movements and key activities of the association. Thereby, building women's trust in the association, encouraging young members, female cadres and civil servants to participate in activities.

Through implementation, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has expanded to 173/193 bases, with 566 branches implementing. In 2024 alone, 75 branch heads were admitted to the Party; 100% of the grassroots associations coordinated to improve knowledge for members and women, participate in socio-economic development projects, and build the Party in the locality. Carrying out political tasks in the direction of "The province creatively applies, the commune firmly grasps members, the branches understand members and women"; in the coming time, the provincial Women's Union at all levels will continue to effectively promote the models of "1+1", "3 have, 3 know", branches 4 good, creating an environment for women to develop and contribute to the community.
