Lac Long Quan Flower Garden (Tay Ho Ward, Hanoi ) has recently become an attractive destination with the appearance of a giant Earth model, attracting thousands of locals and tourists to check-in.

The "Gaia" model is a work of the United Nations International School of Hanoi, with a diameter of up to 7 m, recreated from a 120dpi image of the Earth's surface by NASA. The work brings the experience of admiring the "blue planet" on a large scale in a vivid three-dimensional space, helping the public feel the Earth from the perspective of astronauts in outer space.

The "Gaia" model is 1.8 million times smaller than the real Earth, with a scale of 1cm on the model corresponding to 18 km in real life. When standing about 211 m away from the model, viewers will have a view as if observing the Earth from the Moon.

The work also recalls 1972, when the Apollo 17 crew (NASA) took the first panoramic photo of the Earth - an iconic image that changed human perception.

A large number of young people, locals and tourists gathered at Lac Long Quan flower garden to take photos and check-in with the giant Earth model on the evening of October 30.

Le Thi Thanh Tam (right, 28 years old) traveled 20 km with a group of friends from Dong Anh commune to admire and check-in with the Earth model. "Despite the drizzling weather, I still found the atmosphere here very bustling. When I witnessed it in reality, I found the Earth model much more brilliant and impressive than when I saw it on social networks. I chose an angle to shoot from below and then bent down to pose for the neatest frames," Thanh Tam said.

"The heavy rain forced me to take pictures in a raincoat, changing the way I took pictures from my original plan. The space here is a bit dark, so when taking pictures I need a flash to avoid being dark and still keep the shimmering light of the globe," said Kim Hue (20 years old, Tuong Mai ward).

At 10:30 p.m. on October 30, the number of people flocking to West Lake Flower Garden increased, causing congestion in the Lac Long Quan street area, especially the entrances to the giant Earth model exhibition area.

According to the plan, "Gaia" will be exhibited in many countries. In 2025, the work will be present in Slovenia, Germany, England, Sweden, France and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the model will be displayed on the campus of the United Nations International School (UNIS Hanoi) from October 6 to October 25. The event to display the "Gaia" model at Lac Long Quan flower garden will take place from October 28 to November 1.
