Coach Mai Duc Chung said that the Vietnamese women's national team received quite adequate nutrition, with each player receiving an allowance of over one million dong per day during their preparation for the 2023 World Cup.
Coach Mai Duc Chung received many questions about the team's nutrition regimen and preparation plans for the 2023 World Cup.
The 74-year-old coach said that currently, the Vietnamese women's national team has a good nutritional regime and is actively training to improve their physical fitness in preparation for the Women's World Cup.
Coach Mai Duc Chung said: "Diet plays a role in improving the physical fitness and recovery of athletes. Currently, we do not have a dedicated nutritionist."
However, the Federation's kitchen provides relatively complete nutrition for the players with dishes such as chicken, beef, and in the morning, fertilized duck eggs...
In addition, we received milk, ginseng, B12, and nutritional supplements from our sponsors."
According to coach Mai Duc Chung, the lives of Vietnamese female footballers have improved significantly compared to the past thanks to consecutive successes in regional competitions and qualifying for the World Cup.
The 74-year-old coach said: "Each player currently receives an allowance of more than one million dong per day (excluding four Sundays) from the General Department of Physical Education and Sports and the Vietnam Football Federation."
"Never before has the women's national football team received such attention and such a good training program. This is a huge source of motivation for us."
After returning home, the Vietnamese women's national team is adjusting to the time difference. In addition to supplementing nutrition, coach Mai Duc Chung and his staff are also planning and arranging appropriate training and rest schedules to help the players regain their fitness and maintain their strength.
The coach from Hanoi is confident that the team has a good physical foundation, which was demonstrated during the recent training camp in Europe.
Coach Mai Duc Chung said: "As you saw in the match against the German women's team, the Vietnamese women's team has very good physical condition; no one is exhausted or suffering from cramps."
For example, at the end of the match, Thanh Nha still made a very quick sprint past the opposing defenders to score a goal. We are continuing to maintain our physical fitness, endurance, and speed training so that when we go to New Zealand for the World Cup, we are ready to face the USA, the Netherlands, and Portugal."
