On January 25, the first group of the Vietnamese team arrived at Noi Bai International Airport ( Hanoi ) after the group stage of the 2023 Asian Cup. Many fans were present at the airport and gave words of encouragement to coach Philippe Troussier and his team.
The 17 members present at Noi Bai airport included the General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Head of the Vietnamese team Duong Nghiep Khoi, Coach Troussier, assistant Moulay, fitness coach Cedric Rogers and 13 players: Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Filip, Nguyen Thai Son, Nguyen Thanh Binh, Nguyen Van Tung, Phan Tuan Tai, Pham Xuan Manh, Pham Tuan Hai, Truong Tien Anh, Le Pham Thanh Long, Vu Van Thanh, Nguyen Van Viet and Nguyen Dinh Bac.

Closing the journey of Asian Cup 2023, although the Vietnamese team could not pass the group stage, the efforts against Japan and Iraq were recognized by fans. Also at the airport, the young midfielder born in 2004 shared about the past matches of the Vietnamese team at the Asian Cup. Dinh Bac was sad when the team stopped early in the group stage, but he considered it a valuable experience for the Vietnamese players to become more mature and confident, ready to face Indonesia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March as well as the 2024 AFC U23 Championship finals.
On this return trip, defender Pham Xuan Manh had to use a wheelchair at the airport. It is known that Manh was advised by the doctor to limit his movements because he is suffering from ankle pain. However, this is not a serious injury. The player of Hanoi Club only needs to rest for a few days before he can return to training.

Coach Troussier was the last person from group 1 to leave the airport. Although he was quite sad and reserved when he could not help the Vietnamese team pass the group stage, he remained polite, gentle and friendly when taking pictures with the fans, especially the veteran fans who made the effort to come to the airport to encourage the home team.
Before the team said goodbye, Coach Troussier also said goodbye and wished the players to continue to maintain their form, fitness, and enthusiasm after returning to the club. Because in about a month, the Vietnamese team will return to focus to play the first and second leg against Indonesia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
