The province currently has over 500 cooperatives, of which agricultural cooperatives account for over 80%. In order to improve operational efficiency, in recent years, along with actively expanding scale, applying high technology to production; focusing on preservation, processing, and improving product quality, cooperatives have promoted trade promotion activities. Thereby, creating opportunities for joint ventures, product consumption linkages, gradually building brands and expanding consumption markets.
To promote trade promotion activities, the provincial departments, branches and professional agencies have actively played the role of a bridge between cooperatives and organizations and individuals in organizing cooperatives to participate in trade promotion programs and expand markets such as: Participating in fairs and exhibitions; participating in conferences and seminars connecting trade between cooperatives and enterprises and distributors; organizing training courses, fostering knowledge of business administration and marketing; supporting the application of information technology and digital transformation in cooperatives...
From 2024 to present, the Provincial Cooperative Union and the Department of Rural Development have organized nearly 200 cooperatives to participate in trade promotion; organized 50 training sessions on communication skills, negotiation and contract signing for cooperative officials and members.
Recently, the Provincial Cooperative Union has signed an agreement with the Cooperative Union of Hai Duong and Bac Giang provinces to coordinate support for at least 10% of the members of the cooperative alliance of the three provinces to participate in annual trade promotion. In addition, cooperatives also introduce their products through the cooperative's website; zalo, personal facebook and at product introduction stores. According to the assessment of the industry, each year, 5 - 7% of cooperatives after participating in trade promotion programs have developed and maintained connections with new customers, expanding the consumption market.
As a companion in many trade promotion activities of the province, Vuong Phat Vegetable and Fruit Cooperative and Agricultural Services, Viet Yen Commune (Yen My) has built sustainable relationships with many customers and cooperatives inside and outside the province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Director of the Cooperative, said: The main field of operation of the Cooperative is production, preliminary processing, packaging and trading of clean vegetables, tubers and fruits. From 2021 to present, the Cooperative has participated in 50 product promotion and display programs inside and outside the province implemented by the Provincial Cooperative Union, departments and branches. Thanks to that, the Cooperative's products are known to many customers and orders increase every year. From the trade promotion programs, the Cooperative has the opportunity to connect with businesses and agents consuming products and improve market knowledge. To date, the Cooperative has built 5 product consumption stores in provinces and cities in the country, maintained links with 3 Cooperatives in the same production field and supermarket systems, stores inside and outside the province. The average annual revenue of the Cooperative reaches over 7 billion VND.
Established in 2024, Hung Yen Agricultural Processing Cooperative, Dong Tao Commune (Khoai Chau) still faces many difficulties in its operations. However, with support from the professional sector, the cooperative's operations have begun to stabilize. For nearly a year, the cooperative has been one of 500 cooperatives in the province selected by the Cooperative Union to participate in fairs in the southern provinces, Hai Phong city, and Thai Nguyen province.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Director of the Cooperative, said: The trade promotion programs have created a "playground" for the Cooperative to introduce and promote products, and at the same time share good practices of other units. Thereby, the Cooperative learns from other units how to decorate the "eye-catching" display area; the sales process for each product, each locality must be suitable for customers; actively perfect and perfect the design, packaging, product quality... Since participating in the trade promotion, the Cooperative has developed and maintained 2 connections with stores and agents in Thai Nguyen province.
Up to now, the whole province has 202 cooperatives developing and maintaining production and product supply chains, of which 136 cooperatives are linked in the field of cultivation, 46 cooperatives are linked in the field of livestock breeding, and 20 cooperatives are linked in the field of aquaculture. Many products that are strengths and specialties of the locality have been widely promoted, gradually penetrating into modern distribution channels and provincial markets such as: longan fruit, longan, honey, lotus seeds, etc.
